Congrats Diamond Wildcats - SRVC champs

First in SRVC/Mid Lakes era. I'm not sure what they were in before Mid Lakes.

Also the first time in Spring River history a one loss team won ship outright. All other one loss winners were co or tri champs.

Diamond didn't have a football program before the mid lakes conference started.
Congrats Wildcats!

I don't believe that Diamond was ever in the Mid-Lakes. The Mid-Lakes until the SRVC started was Fair Grove, Stockton, Greenfield, Sarcoxie, Pierce City, Marionville, Strafford, and Miller. I could be wrong, but from at least 1997-2005 that was the Mid-Lakes Conference.

Anyway, congrats to Diamond.

Miller played them every year, maybe they were independent, but I vaguely remember them on the conference banner in the gym.

Diamonds program isn't old enough to have been in the Midwest. Pretty sure Diamond was independent until SRVC.

You're right I think. They were independent for their first years. Later, they beat Pierce City in a playoff game in 2002 or thereabouts, which would've made them "sectional champs", or banner-worthy.
