We made it through the final week of the regular season with minimal disruption so I'd call that a success. It was a pretty interesting season and I enjoyed having a few more teams up their game this year.
- Branson, Republic and Ozark all seemed improved over last year.
- Willard and Neosho may have slid back a bit. Neosho at one point looked to me like an up and comer but wins have been fewer and far between since the coach went to Republic.
- Joplin was not the same as the last couple years but were still better than many expected. Lost a head scratcher to Willard but otherwise had a pretty solid season. Their game with Ozark where they scored like 35 points in the 4th quarter and almost won was entertaining. Rockhurst is a tough draw for week 1 of districts. I don't see Joplin making it deep this year simply due to their district but I wouldn't completely write them off yet.
- Carthage has had some ups and downs but they have looked very good the last few weeks. Pending an unusual upset, a district championship (at Carthage) vs Webb City could be a dandy. I'm sure Jackson is hoping to get another shot at the Tigers.
- Webb City looked vulnerable the first few weeks but quickly put those rumors to bed. If they beat Carthage then a potential game with Jackson will be highly anticipated.
- Nixa was the most improved team. Although they fell short against Carthage and Webb City I think the future looks promising for the eagles given their relatively young roster and a coach that seems to be stirring up some fresh excitement.
