I was looking at NOAA’s website dedicated to climate change yesterday. They explain they average daily data from 6300 worldwide reporting stations to come up with a yearly average temperature for the planet. They have this data starting in 1880.

Data must be manipulated for changes in types of instruments used over the years, time of day and how data was collected. Just a few years ago they revised down all temperature data taken at sea before 1990 because they thought it was too high.
Every year there are millions of data points that must be averaged, and times 140 for all the years since 1880
With all of this data to manipulate and over 140 years NOAA claims earths temperature has increased 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit since 1880. I deal a lot with math and data in my job, I don’t think it’s possible for them to say with any certainty our planet is 1.4 degrees warmer this year than it was back in 1880. Too much data and too many variables and fudge factors they inject
Just 40 years ago the same scientists were warning of an impending ice age,,,and deciding beef steak was terrible for you
You two are adorable.
My home is off grid and runs on solar panels and have a big battery bank and inverters for power. I see both sides.Regardless of an individual's stance, what's the harm in reducing emissions?
My issue is all the things he listed does ZERO to help the planet. Anyone who says, "Well it raises awareness." is an idiot. No one is unaware, whether they accept or deny, of climate change.

The “Green New Deal” they are promoting is completely impossible. Can’t be done unless they find a source for Dilithium Crystals on our side of the galaxy.
I have about $20,000 invested. Mine is not grid tied so I have the added cost of a large battery bank ( six Trojan 4 volt batteries that weigh almost 500 pounds each) three 80 amp charge controllers and 4 heavy duty inverters. If you dont mind my asking, how much did that set you back? I want to get some solar panels.

Since I did all the work myself saved lot of money ( it’s just an expensive hobby pretty much) Obama paid 30% of it though through tax credit!!!
If you are going to grid tie your system so you can sell unused power back to your utility company then you just need the panels and a special AC inverter/controller. Bad thing is since it is tied into utility power I think system must be designed by a registered engineer and installed by a licensed electrician and that drives up cost
Just kind of depends what you want to do and how big you want to go
Regardless of an individual's stance, what's the harm in reducing emissions?
Not a thing!
What is harmful is government forcing these things.
Yep pretty much. You are basically selling the utility company all of the power you generate and it offsets your monthly bill. Utility companies are helpful because it’s how they are meeting the govt mandate that a certain percentage of their power is from renewablesIf I did go with the grid tied system would it be grid dependent?
You two are adorable.
How will anything he listed affect climate change?
Well?
I don’t know. I didn’t read your list. And I don’t let myself get worked up over protests or angry people I have never met. I used to laugh at the Tea Party racists who only cared about deficits when we had a black president.
Seriously. Our deficits are completely out of control. If Scout and his Tea Party buddies were so against deficit spending, where are they right now?
That has nothing to do with my question. Tea Party were idiots too, my question remains, how does protesting in any of the ways listed positively affect climate change?
