KCPreps reported That the class 6 championship game will be played at MU the week prior to Thanksgiving. Will go back to MSU next year.

I only live about 75 Miles from Springfield and could never make it to St Louis to watch the Championship games but being so close I was really looking forward to seeing all the games... But hey I guess 5 games are better than None.

So next year MSU will host JUST the Class 6 and 8 man?
After reading several articles I believe all the games will be at MU next year. And if I read it right the class 6 game will still be one week prior to Thanksgiving.

Mississippi rotates between Ole Miss and Miss St among other SEC states. It's not our fault Carnie Smith was already booked.

I was referring to when this was initially batted around on this board. Someone claimed that it could never be played at MU due to SEC rules or something. As for the Carnie Smith comment,,,, let it go,, at the time, it was good for all. just let it go.

Sounds like the class 6 powers in KC and STL are snubbing MSU and Springfield and apparently have enough influence at MSHSAA to get their own special deal. The good thing about them having their championship elsewhere and not on thanksgiving is that it starts to erode the thanksgiving event that has pushed the start of the season into mid august. Logistically, Columbia is probably somewhat closer to most C6 schools... I think Joplin and Kickapoo are the only C6 outside of KC or STL.

Well. The class 6 schools have been trying to get ride of the 2 weeks off between the semi's and finals. That I believe had more to do with it than snubbing MSU.
