What is everyone thinking?

Both rematches from last week of regular season followed by another rematch.
Oak Park vs. Fort Osage
Grain Valley vs. Raytown
OP, FO and GV could go 5-5 in best out of 10 against each other. Really hard to differentiate between them.

I think the winner will be playing Francis Howell or Carthage in the championship.

MICDS doesn't roll off the tongue very well. Do the students call it Country Day or something else? I can't tell how good any of those teams are in that corner of the bracket. I remember how much trouble Bouchard's gave Smithville last year in C4..

The students call it Ivy League High School.

Agreed, next two weeks will be dogfights no matter what the matchups among those 3 although we probably shouldn't overlook Raytown in their game vs Grain Valley since it was a 28-14 game a couple of weeks ago.

Grain Valley has been their own worst enemy with turnovers...if they can avoid those they are more than capable of beating Fort or OP. They played OP to a 4pt game earlier in the season and turnovers killed them as they blew an early lead in the game vs Fort.

Oak Parks has some really nice athletes in their backfield and hit fort for several big plays in the 5 point Fort win a couple of weeks ago. Oak Parks offense is really tough to defend and Fort needs to be more assignment sound defensivly than they were in the first meeting.

I do think of Fort is probably the most balanced team with their ability to run/pass on the offensive side and Menne seems to be getting healthier following that injury in week 2.

Should be a fun couple of weeks.

I think Eureka will beat MICDS, and smoke whoever makes it out of KC by default, to make it to the championship. The more interesting matchup would be Francis Howell vs Carthage in the other semi.

Weather will, in my opinion, play a part this Friday. I watched the Platte County at Oak Park game in full in that driving rain last week they have the physical tools and offensive backfield to cause anyone trouble. This is the week I wish I could clone myself about 4-5 times and see all of these live!

I believe Eureka has a tough one ahead. MICDS just stomped a team that gave Eureka all they wanted. We will see.

If Carthage RB Gall is healthy. If not perhaps Republic wins another huge one and faces Lebanon-Camdenton in the quarters.........

I've always heard it called just "Country Day". I watched WC play them several years ago in a shootout. Seemed like a nice group, just a crowd that few people in Webb City or anywhere around here can relate to. Funny enough I think their QB that year went on to play Ivy League.

With Carthage - part of me wondered if sidelining Gall was a way to insert confusion in the strategizing process of next weeks opponent. Republic took some risks with Nixa and WC and it paid off so I'm interested to see what they'll do Friday. For whatever reason Carthage has had some trouble defending Republic in numerous games the last several years in fact I think only Joplin scored more on Carthage than Republic this year. Carthage will need to keep on the offensive gas in this one for sure. Special teams was a big part of Carthage's loss to Nixa and a big part of their wins over Webb City and Joplin so I fully expect that will be a factor in which way Friday goes. Special teams take on extra importance in tough games.

I do think Carthage will get it done but Republic is proven to be more than capable. Should be a dandy either way!

Beyond that I'd probably take either of them over Lebanon/Camdenton because my opinion is the COC is tougher this year than the COC but you never know. Things always get interesting at this point when you're projecting with no common opponents and you get to see what really happens!

And the better teams, and better coached teams, winning the vast majority.

Yeah...but JRod is already out. Jones had a team get five TOs in the championship game last year with Lib North. Playoffs comes down to the big plays and the big stars. Give up the ball and you go home. It is getting to this level where there a lot of high quality teams left.

MICDS academicly is harder than the first 2 years at college. I hear kids including my own say that, my son regularly did 3-4 hours of homework a night.

. It’s also loaded with skill talent, they were cruising Saturday and Moore and Hall had close to 500 yards combinded. They can grind you down or spread you out, it’s the same team sans their QB that Smithville beat, their O line is just better this year than last. Their defense against the pass is suspect, and they got thrown on a ton, but Eureka doesn’t throw, so who knows

I honestly thought they would lose to Lafayette, but they did whatever they wanted to them. I think whoever wins Eureka v MICDS makes it to the finals, but neither have the gas to beat Francis Howell or Carthage

We played Country Day in Busch II the year after I graduated. Got stomped, but many friends still look back on playing at Busch fondly.

That DOES NOT leave enough time for agility training and weight lifting.
