Class 4 Boys Basketball Quarterfinal Pairings

Sikeston(26-2) vs. St. Mary’s (27-3)

St. Mary's emerges from showdown win vs. Vashon, Sikeston and talented Fred Thatch will have their hands full.



Site: Southwest Baptist

Logan Rogersville(24-5) vs. Grandview(KC) 25-3

Grandview impressed in blow out win vs. Rolla in sectionals. Is this the most talented team Logan Rogersville has seen this year?



Site: Washington HS

Parkway Central(24-5) vs. Jennings(26-3)

Jennings won 58-56 on 2-16 at Jennings, a season ago Parkway Central earned a 66-48 win at Washington HS over the Warriors to advance to Columbia. This is the last season for veteran head coach Rick Kirby with his talented senior class. DeAndre Campbell now has 343 FT this season is there another player in Missouri that attacks the rim as hard as he does?

Raytown South(23-5) vs. Kearney(16-12)


Kearney upsets Lafayette (St. Joe) to advance to quarterfinal round. Bud Lathrop leads...not really just seeing if you were still reading. Cardinals are solid and have to be the favorite here to advance to Columbia.

Second year in a row half of the KC Suburban Small Six is in the Class 4 elite 8. Last year I thought Grandview would win it all...................this year, with no Bolivar in play thus making this quarterfinal a neutral court game, they should make the Final Four. If they do that the St. Mary's game could be a classic. The winner of that one should win it all. As for the other side both, I believe, are rematches from last year. Parkway Central and Kearney advanced last year but the opposite is almost likely this time around. The Dogs even being in this position after what graduated last year is amazing PLUS they got a measure of revenge for football by once again knocking Lafayette out of its top boys sport.

Being a bit of a homer I am going all in on a Suburban Small Six title game with Grandview topping Ray South.

Ray South and Grandview cruise. St Mary’s and Jennings might have to sweat a little. Could be one of the more athletic and talented C4 Final 4 in a while.
