Several class 4 teams are making statements:

1. Sikeston 11-0 --biggest win--Zumwalt South 12-2 --The " Clocking Bulldogs " have few if any close games to date. The Clocking Bulldogs will play Carbondale, Illinois 10-4 this week in Sikeston. A win here would help make the case for a class 4 state championship. Carbondale is ranked 43rd in the state of Illinois and has defeated St. Louis area Cardinal Ritter 53-36.
2. Vashon--10-4--Biggest wins to date is defeating Vianney twice. The Woverines have played a challenging schedule and could stand tall in Columbia.
3. Bolivar 9-0--The undefeated Liberators have defeated Nixa for their biggest win to date. Bolivars has a hugh challenge in the Tournament of Champions in Springfield this week. If the Liberators can get a win here, this would make a strong case for a class 4 state championship.
4. Lafayette St. Joe 10-1 --Always in the mix and has a big win to make their case for final four run.--Who is St. Joe's big win?
5. Parkway West--9-2--Biggest win Kirkwood--The Longhorns are for real but .
6. Jennings 10-2--biggest win Lutheran South--
7. Rolla 11-1--Not sure who their biggest win to date. I see another Rolla-Borgia game in the sectional.--Anyone betting against a Rolla-Borgia game in the sectional?
8. Soldan--10-2--Biggest win to date is St. Mary's--Have not made a case for a championship but Jennings is very good.
9/ Westminister 8-2--Biggest win to date is Francis Howell 10-4--Westminister will play in the Washington Tournament this week with Borgia being the competition. Westminister's wins are going up this week.

It appears to me Sikeston, Vashon, Bolivar and maybe Parkway West have made their case for a class 4 state championship.

Class 5 Chaminade--Most people I know have Chaminade a lock.

Class 3 Kansas City Barstow and Father Tolton out of Columbia appear to be @ the head of their class. I think we can safely lock one of these two teams to win a class 3 state champions.

Class 1 Walnut Grove 14-0 appear to be making their case for the class 1 title---biggest win --Iberia 10-1

We are still waiting for someone in class 2 to " Stand up " and make their case for a state championship. Does anyone out there see a favorite with a big win to back it up?

In Class 3 keep an eye out for Hogan Prep out of the KC area. They are the only team I can see possibly challenging Barstow from this side of the state in C3.

In C5 from the KC area I think there is a decent chance we will see two KC Metro teams in Columbia again this year.

I'd look for Lee's Summit as the best bet(with probably LSW as their biggest challenge) and Blue Springs as a good possibility out of their bracket.

One possible challenger to Lafayette from the west side is KC Center. They have a couple of really nice players in Franck Kamgain and Robert Gillum.

I know it seems silly to even mention, but don't look past my Falcons. I hope/think we'll get things figured out and take advantage of our last year in Class 4. A healthy Rog hosting the district will be tough as well West Plains, but we've got the weapons to make a run.

Rolla beat Hogan Prep and Waynesville back to back nights both by 33 points. They meet up with Helias this Friday which will be a big game for both teams and probably decide the one seed for their district.

I still like Advance and Stanberry in class one. I predict they will both be in Columbia.

I think O'Hara is better than Hogan Prep. Not saying either one will beat Barstow, however.

metro....I agree with the 4 teams you listed (Sikeston, Vashon, Parkway West, and Bolivar) as contenders for a state title. However, I don't think if Sikeston loses at Carbondale that lessens their chances any. Win or lose, they STILL have to win district, get by a District 2 opponent in the sectionals, and probably see Parkway West in the quarters BEFORE even getting to Como. None of that changes with a loss... If they win, they don't get a pass straight to Como.

Helias played Tolton to a 1 point game. They lost a ton, but are playing well. Should be a great district with Rolla.

Rocket, I really like Sikeston's chances to be a class 4 final four team. Class 4 district 1 is a " Walk Thru " experience. SEMO is down this year among schools in class 3 , 4 and 5 with the exception of Sikeston. Cape Central could be the competition for Sikeston but not on paper. Cape Norte Dame has been clocked two times this season therefore is no threat to anyone.

Here are the teams in class 4 district 2. This is a " Walk Thru " sectional for any threatening team.

DeSoto
Farmington
Fredericktown
North County
Potosi
St. Geneviece

District 3 has no real threatening teams( Lutheran South and Festus ) but district 4 has Parkway West 8-2 and Westminister 8-2. Either one could cause problems for Sikeston but if the " Clocking Bulldogs are " True Believers ", it's no big thing. Rocket, take my advice and get room reservations in Columbia.

Dude, how can you know all the stuff you put on here and NOT know Father Tolton has no s in it?

Thanks 3rfan, I'm guessing you agree with the original post.
I couldn't give an educated opinion. I haven't even seen Sikeston play, much less all those you mentioned. I get most my info about HS school basketball on this forum.

What about Liberty North in Class 5?
They're good. Michael Hughes is a wonderful athlete. Should win their district, IMO. Not sure they have enough around him to go much further than that. A lot of season left, though! Teams can improve or not.

I'm guessing Rolla's big attention getting wins are Hogan Prep 68-35 and Waynesville 80-47 and 60-58. Rolla should be moving up in the class 4 polls and a deep run in class 4 could be in the making.
