When were/are Class 4 Districts to be seeded? I know Class 4 Districts start on Feb. 25, if not the Saturday before in some locales.
Anyone have information, especially on C4D8 at Hannibal?

Kirksville hosted that district a few years back (Borgia wasn't in it at that time) and Warrenton had a 9 pm 1st round game against the host school on a Monday night. On top of that, a previous game in the evening went into 2 OT so tipoff was well after 9.

Wow. Guess the lucky thing is that they had a bye. They couldn't have had to come up like that two nights in a row. Man if this is the case. Why not get into the ranking system. Maybe for even for east west, and then re rank when it gets down to the final 8 or 4.

I agree. Those long bus rides for districts are ridiculous but where does the line get drawn? Look how spread out the NCMC is because there are no 4A schools in the rural areas. Marshall, Boonville, Fulton, Mexico, Moberly, Hannibal and Kirksville are use to the 1-2 hour bus rides for conference games. It's the urban schools that aren't use to the long travel. The time should be accommodated so there aren't 9pm games a few hours away. Borgia may be getting home around 1 am on a school night.

Thats what I mean. If schools are going to have to travel that far anyway, why not do the who Eastern/Western playoff seedings

Absolutely! That would take away from some of your state ranked teams and potential final 4 teams playing in districts.

Poplar Bluff has to travel to Northwest or Seckman just about every year, that's about 2 hours. They have 3 teams in this 5 team class 5 district so they out vote P.B. and Jackson for the location. I don't think anyone in this district has a bad facility for it to be played in but what can you do? It should be on a rotation where every team that wants to host it gets the chance to do so. If we went east-west Jackson and P.B. would have an even longer trip to play other class 5 schools.

The conference tournament is always held in Sikeston. It used to be the Sikeston Invitational tournament. At that time, there was no conference tournament. The teams got together and decided to turn it into the SEMO conference tournament, and all the teams agreed that it would be held in Sikeston.

Metro knows this, as this has been widely discussed for many years. He just likes to stir up crap and create controversy where there isn’t any.

Sorry rocketbro, I did not know the " SEMO Conference Tournament " was always held @ Sikeston every year and I did not know playing the Conference tournament @ Sikeston has controversy.

They both play basketball.

Both teams have an opponent in their districts who could be disruptive.

Sikeston playing @ Cape Central.

Cardinal Ritter playing @ Vashon.

There appears to be one more similar quality that Vashon and Sikeston have. What could it be? Try harder.

It was a factual statement on my part. U seem to have taken crazy interest on both teams. Almost stalking, but you want to question and interject your “coaching wisdom “ on both programs. Almost like you figured out two most talked about teams and are riding their coat tails to make yourself feel more relevant. Thank you for your interest. But we are good we survived before you and will after your free subscription to Just Hair For Men wears out

Sikeston and Vashon are ranked #1 in your class, you are news, people all over the state want to hear about your team and players on both Sikeston and the Vashon team.

Many of the Sikeston fans have posted on Vashon and St. Louis area schools recruiting players. Sikeston Train for one. This is just not true.

This is true about Vashon:

Cyrus Alexander 6'6" transferred from Whitfield to Vashon after his sophomore year @ Whitfield.
Donyae McCaskill 6'2" transfered from Springfield, Missouri after his sophomore year in Springfield.

This is true about Sikeston:

Owen Long 6'2" transferred from the state of Alabama after his sophomore year in Alabama.
Parker Long 6'2" ( Twin brother ) from Alabama as well.

Both Vashon and Sikeston did nothing wrong. All four players were legal transfers and outstanding basketball players. I believe all four players will play @ the next level.

Why is it alright for a few Sikeston fans posting about St. Louis area schools recruiting when it just is not true. Why do you get so worked up when it's posted you guys have legal transfers as well.

Who gets worked up when you mention the twins? I've never seen anybody get worked up over it. That's just you inventing things. And if you think Vashon doesn't handpick their players at a young age then you're living in a dream world. My "sources" tell me that they have summer camps, open gyms, etc., where they get contact information for hundreds of kids from around the city, and encourage the ones they are interested in to attend school there. I know people that have done it. Is it illegal? Not by the letter of the law of what St. Louis public schools are allowed to do with the way I understand it. Is it equal fairness when compared to a small town that only has its small district boundary to draw from? No. It would be no different than say, Charleston, which is this year's favorite in Class 3 in the SEMO area, having open gyms and enticing all the top players from Sikeston, Cape Central, Poplar Bluff, Hayti, Caruthersville, Notre Dame, Jackson, to attend school at Charleston and forming their own "super team." Which in this area, and all rural areas outside of the metro areas, is completely illegal. But for St. Louis publics, it is allowed. You don't seem to understand this discrepancy.

When has Perryville or Fredericktown hosted? I don’t know if Fredericktown is always in the district with Cape Central and Sikeston, but I know Perryville is. Do they decline when it’s their turn or are they never offered a turn?

I believe it's decided by the administration of the schools by voting for the school's that apply. If only one school applies to host that's easy, but if more than one I believe it's voted on. But I'm not 100% sure, someone could check me on this. I just know in our district that's what happened. We had three school's wanting to host. So they voted on it.

I think you are correct, but someone said this particular district rotates and I don’t think that’s accurate unless Perryville declines when their turn comes up in the said rotation.

I don’t think it is a specific automatic rotation. I think Trim78’s assessment is correct. Schools that want to host make a bid, and the schools in the district vote on it.

You know Metro is an “older” guy. He might have been told information previously and has forgotten. I don’t have the memory that I used to have. (Can’t believe I’m actually leaning Metro’s way lol)

There hasn't been a SEMO conference tourney all that long. The Sikeston Invitational was around rfor long time.
