Week 8 Notes
Unranked teams that you can expect make noise in the Class 4
post season include Hannibal, a 51-6 winner over Kirksville and Helias, a 39-19
winner over Warrensburg in week 8 activity.
Warrenton ended St. Dominic's perfect season
with a 49-28 defeat in their district opener. Quarterback Scott
Lathrop did a little bit of everything in the victory rushing 25 times
for 216-yards and a pair of scores, while also passing for 154-yards and three
touchdowns.
Webb City defeated Carthage 21-13 in the game that has become
one of the top events annually in Southwest Missouri.

Kourtland Webb rushed for 113-yards and a score, he also
passed for a score as the Ladue Rams passed their initial district test besting
MICDS 49-14. Teammate Charles Badgett opened the game with a pair of
touchdown runs.
No one seemed to anticipate Windsor(3-5)
handling Festus(5-3) 23-7 in the opening week of district play. Tyler Dawidowski
rushed for 147-yards in the victory for the Owls.
Shane Hartzler led Kearney
to victory once again completing 14-of-20 passes for 215 yards and 3 touchdowns.
The 56-14 victory over Smithville was the 18th consecutive victory for the
Bulldogs.
Week 9 Showdown Games
8-0 Sikeston will visit 8-0 Cape
Central in the key district 1 test. Sikeston quarterback
Trey Lewis directs
the offense and is a threat with his arm and legs.
Darryl Howard has
been a solid threat out of the backfield throughout the season for the Bulldogs.
Cape Central has won with a solid defense and a backfield stacked with talent
including Keilon Moore, Deonte Jenkins, and Rodney Reynolds.
DeSoto(5-3) will visit Potosi(6-2) in a key game in district
2. Both teams opened district play with victories.
Suburban East rivals Ladue(7-1) and
Clayton(6-2) will meet at Gay Field, the home of the Lions in a key district 6
test. Keep an eye on the quarterbacks. Ladue's
Kourtland Webb is
one of the top dual threat players in the state.
Chase Haslett has
passed for 727-yards and 5 touchdowns, while Clayton running back
Kameron Stewart
has rushed for 881-yards and 8 touchdowns.
Warrenton will host Borgia as a pair of 5-3 teams compete for
the lead in district 8.
Marshfield is the next team with the
responsibility of stopping the Hillcrest passing game in district 10. Both
Marshfield and Hillcrest earned opening week victories.
Matt Futrell has
passed for 2,259-yards and 13 touchdowns this season. Top targets include
Dorial Green Beckham
(1,253, 8 TD) and Jeremy Coleman(454,
4 TD).
Big Performances
Keilon Moore rushed 23 times, gaining 187-yards in Cape
Centrals 40-28 victory over Farmington.
In the loss Farmington quarterback Zach Hibbits completed
21-of-41 passes for 279-yards and a pair of touchdowns.
