A lot can happen between now and the postseason but there is potential for some unusual developments. Right now the top 4 seeds in district are 1,3,4 and 8 as far as most district points in class 4. Carl Junction is # 2 ranked in the state in the latest poll but is 4th in the district standings and likely will be no higher than 3rd, possibly even 4th even if they win out.

CJ still has a match-up with Carthage looming and I read they might have lost one of their best defenders but I still think they are favored. I think they will win out.

I think West Plain's 4th quarter rally against Camdenton is going to ultimately decide the Ozark conference title. Camdenton does finish the season with Glendale which could be a test but I can see both West Plains and Camdenton winning out.

So I think it isn't inconceivable that in the district semifinals you could 4 teams with a total combined 2 losses and you could have a district SEMIFINAL match-up of the 1 & 2 ranked teams in the state. IF That happens that would be insane.

And if your scenario played out you'd be talking about a pair of semifinal games with four teams that each had what, 8 game winning streaks or better?

By the way, Hillcrest could be a tough first round game for somebody and even McDonald County is 3-1. Bolivar is down so far but they've typically been a first round winner in district play.

I would like to see the semis as follows:

West Plains vs CJ (a rematch from 2014)

Webb vs Camdenton (boy that would bring back some great games from a decade or so ago)

In my mind, West Plains still has two games left that will present some challenges for them.

Joplin(3-1) is coming to town next week and do I think they're a better team than West Plains? No, but history has proven the last 4 years or so that anytime they get together, it's just a battle. Joplin has to make the 3 hour drive next week, so we shall see.

And then there's Lebanon, more often than not, this game is an extremely close and extremely physical game, regardless of what either teams records are heading into the game. I almost view this as a sort of rivalry for west plains

As much as it pains me to say this, I'm just hoping we get past Catholic and don't end up in 8th place in the district. If we lose to Catholic and Ozark we are looking at our first losing season in 13 or 14 years. I'll be in Guymon, OK tomorrow night so I will miss the Missouri games. I'll be listening online. Good luck to all teams.

Bolivar would have to lose to Marshfield to finish 8th. That will not happen. With Hillcrest and McDonald County improved though it is is going to tough to move up higher than 6th even if Bolivar gets several wins.

And how about those two losses coming at the hands of the two other teams in the district? Kinda cool...and loaded!
