This district is probably wide open this year and most of the teams are beating each other up and splitting wins. Thoughts on the seeds?

1) Fred
2) NC
3) Farm
4) Ste Gen
5) Potosi
6) DeSoto

1. NC--big W over Festus this week after a lackluster MAAA Tournament
2. Fred-mo--big step reaching MAAA finals after a skid in the regular season.
3. SG-- needs some help from their bigs to win a big game
4. Potosi--talent to win, but is there enough of the intangibles to do it??
5. Farmington--size to win, needs better/consistent play to make a run
6. Desoto--needs an outbreak of flu at the other schools to have a chance

1 NC - watched SG come from almost 20 down in the conference tournament by pressing NC without their point guard. Was not pretty and could be ripe for an upset if they can't get all their players firing on all cylinders.
2 SG - agree the bigs have got to get more physical on the offensive end, without it they are too 1 dimensional.
3 Fred - split with SG this year losing in a game not all that close at SG and by 1 in the MAAA tourney. Not sure Fred's good showing in the MAAA tournament overcomes their total collapse in regular season conference play.
4 Potosi
5 Farmington
6 Desoto - for a 6 seed this team is not that bad. Not flashy, not all that fast. But can shoot decent and stays in their system

Anyone can be upset in this district on a given night. Just gonna come down to matchups and coaching.

Should be a awesome district tournament. All teams have great athletes that can carry their teams to the title. You're right, comes down to match-up problems and timely shooting. Solid year for the MAAA conference.

Coin flip on the first one, NoCo has the best player imho, but I'm not sure Potosi doesn't have the better team. I think Fredericktown beat DeSoto, but who knows if shots aren't falling for Fredmo, the lady dragons could pull it out.

I think this all depends on the tempo of the game. If Fredmo presses and causes havic then they will win based on better guard play. If they sit back and allow North County to feed Forbes then they are in trouble. Watching the games last night, both teams struggle and certain times and it will depend on if the other can take advantage of it. The bigs for both teams have to stay out of foul trouble unlike last night. In the end I give the advantage to Fred because of the guards and pressure they can put on people. My prediction is Fred wins by 8.

I respect your opinions and thoughts toward the championship. I would add however, if Binkard and Newland keep shooting the ball well from the 3-point line, then add Eaton and Forbes that could easily go for 25+ on their own respectively, Fredricktown I believe will have problems keeping up.

I completely agree with everything you said. I personally think this will be a good game. Whichever teams shows up and ready wins the game.

Game plan for either team?
NC has 2 of the better players in the are, but Fredmo has better guard play. Who can game plan and execute to take advantage of weaknesses.
NC shot it well vs. Potosi--Has Newland made shots in other games?
Binkard has had a solid year for NC.

Fredmo must have production from their bigs to win--can't be just their guards.

Interesting game--it is a coin toss.
