Class 3 thoughts?

Class 3 has 4 teams a step above everybody else IMO.
South Bracket:
Think Cardinal Ritter has easy path to title game.

North Bracket:
Trinity the clear cut favorite. They will await the winner of Odessa/Maryville what I would call a pickem as of right now. Maryville sometimes struggles with the more physical teams. But has more offensive weapons to play in a shootout with Trinity. (Could see 120+ point game if they matchup. I believe whoever wins Odessa/Maryville would travel to Saint Louis.

Easy Path? Not saying they wont make it... But we have heard that same thing the last few years, and then a STL teams plays a SWMO team with discipline and sends the STL team packing.

At the end of the day, we're all fans and love the game and the competition, they are kids learning how to give their all and navigate life. Gotta keep perspective: "You're not god, Nickerson. You're just a typing teacher."

I've seen them both. i give Odessa the edge but Maryville is really tough at home. Especially if they get their local referees. Not sure how that works during playoffs.

2010 to be exact. The year Richmond beat us 21-14 and went on to win the State Championship in class 3 beating John Burroughs 21-20.

Some of the unattractive things you could see in any HS football game you just always seem to see in spades with MV. I just wouldn't have wanted my kid to play like that as a rule.

And as far as those that talk about Maryville playing dirty......I have been attending games since 2009 and I have never seen what they are referring to. I'm sure there is smack talk between each other.....and maybe a late hit or two...but as far as playing dirty, Maryville does not need to play dirty to win. I know that if Coach Webb saw something like that going on, that player would be on the bench! I have been to many practices and I know they don't teach that way either. And the one who wouldn't want his kid to play for a Maryville team........it's your loss. I spent 30 years attending Blue Springs Wildcat games, I know good football when I see it and I know what a dirty team looks like. Seen most everything.

But they have done what they've needed to get done and might surprise some people on another run to columbia, and in my opinion deserve some respect...only 8 teams left, as they all they deserve some

Cardinal Ritter looks athletic as all get out. The semi match up of STL vs SWMO will be interesting this year....

Good matchup on the other side of the bracket. I think it will be Maryville and Trinity in the semis,,,which will be a great game and pending conditions could be a toss up either way.

I have watched the Big 8 all year and for the past few years. And have actually talked with people in other communities. So, I actually do have a pretty good idea. Or at least, feel that way enough to state an opinion.

But you are correct with the final 8 in class 3 as well as the rest of classes. should be some fun games to watch here on out!!
