don't know how many districts had this happen, but District 8 Pem Hill had the better record and more district points, but lost to St Pius X in the regular season, so Pius got the #3 seed and Pem Hill dropped to 4th.

One of the rare cases that a team would have at least considered not jumping (If they still had to appeal) Pius jumps to 3 and has to play Richmond. Pembroke drops to 4 and gets to play KC Central.

It's happened elsewhere. Macon took the #1 seed away from Palmyra despite them having a better record and more points (with Moberly on Macon's schedule as the non-con opponent mind you) all because of their Week 1 result. Add that these scenario's only play out if they are beside each other in the points standings. Trust the point system and get rid of the automatic appeals. If there's something egregious, allow for a timely formal appeal of some kind.
