Class 3 District 2

I talk to Owensville coach Saturday and they have a very good team. Carinal Ritter has 5 div. 1 signs he said. The kid they got eligible he said is the best player he has seen in his years of coaching they blocked his punt he picked up and ran 102 yards. 57 to 6 against 4 river champs. Cardinal Ritter will run them off the field. Cardinal Ritter has lost 3 games to very large ranked teams. I watched them play Jackson on prep casts and they have so much speed it is hard to get your mind around it. Lutheran North is the only team that might have a shot but they have an average offense by their standards. Park Hils is a very good team but we are talking a much higher level with Cardinal Ritter. They tend to make mistakes with lining up. It is like when I coached against Berkely we were more organized but would we couldn't match their skill and speed. If Cardinal Ritter back gets any type of room they will house it if Park Hills gets an opening cardinal Ritter kid will run them down. I have seen many Cardinal Ritter teams and this is the best, the wideout is the best in the State and maybe the midwest. They are playing with incredible motivation since what happened last year. I wish Park Hills the best of luck but public schools trying to beat the elite talent of some private schools is very difficult.

Owensville is the 4 rivers champs? I thought they they lost a week 9 game against a conf opponent by a large margin? I have heard a lot about Ritter which is why I asked the question....but when they start getting out west of STL they start to see some offenses and style of play they are not accustomed to.

I think you are giving CR too much credit. The QB is a wr. CR defense is suspect. If they win districts, they won't beat the teams from district 1. The state team they had was the best. This team is solid, but they can get beat.

They were not. St. Clair...8-0. Turbo'd Owensville. Unless St. Clair somehow didn't win because they had to miss the Pacific game due to Covid. But then again, they did beat Owensville by 38.

my bad I forgot about St. Clair game. I hope park Hills can give them a game I struggle with the recruiting going on in the St. Louis area but I am telling you the speed cardinal ritter is going to bring is like a track team. Park Hills will be organized and Cardinal Ritter can make a lot of mistakes. We beat them twice in the 7 times we played them because they kept turning the ball over. Their Lineman is always the weak point of the team but the running back they got is a college recruit. park Hills has to slow the game down they get very impatient we ran the clock down on every snap they jumped offsides a ton.

Owensville lost to Potosi this year. Not sure how strong the Four Rivers was this year. Cardinal Ritter SHOULD win this district with all of their D1 & D2 recruits. I am certain that Park Hills will put their best foot forward. And if Cardinal Ritter wins this one, then I am sure St. Clair will do the same. I would think Cardinal Ritter would struggle with whoever comes out of District 1 whether it be St. Mary's, Valle Catholic, or Kennett.

FRC was down. That said, St Clair is solid and darn well coached. My guess is PHC will be able to give CR a game if they can get a few good early hits on and keep the athletes out of space some.

Park Hills Central was 12-0 when they faced Lutheran South in 2017 and fell behind by three scores at half against a team with just three athletes. They haven’t beat a team from the STL area since they caught MICDS in week two of 2016, and eventually were sent home that year by Career Academy. Their season was ended by U-City in 2015 and by Jennings the year before that. What’s the debate?

Kennett is a sleeping giant slowly waking up. Kennett is a good size town for Class 3 (pop 10,000) that has struggled athletically in SEMO for quite a while. They were much better in football (and basketball) last year and got a taste of success in playoff football. From what I understand, a new coach came in a year or two ago, and has lit a fire by getting the kids to go out for football.that may not have played in HS before (and basketball and track).

I don't think they can beat St. Marys this coming week but they do have some athletes. I've always thought Kennett had to be a hidden gold mine of talent. It is one of the bigger towns in SEMO. If my memory is correct, it's been a long, long time since Kennett has made any noise in high school sports.

Congratulations to the coach for turning things around in Kennett. I hear he's a good one!!

Coach Wyatt turned Kennetts program around. He was at Malden and turned their program around when he was there

Before that he was an assistant of Coach Steve Ary for well over a decade. Was one of his coordinators at Mountain Grove and Willow Springs before Ary went to West Plains and now Mountain Home, AR.
He’s also a willow springs alum. The good ole SCA
