A friendly discussion.
A great class, tons of very good teams

In the end I like Blair Oaks against Lafayette County in one Semi and Seneca vs Lamar in the other.

District 1 - Lift for Life
District 2 - Blair Oaks
District 3 - Mountain View Liberty
District 4 - Seneca
District 5 - Lamar
District 6 - St. Michaels
District 7 - Bowling Green
District 8 - Lafayette County

I would watch Holden in District 6.

Looking at enrollment another couple class 1 schools go to 8 man and Lafayette county could drop to class 1. How much of a favorite would they be there? I'll take the favorites in BO and Lamar meeting in Columbia.

94 vs 233 enrollment

MSHSAA may have to quit coddling the 'upper classes' and help out class one if it comes to that.

The break to start class 2 this year looking at MSHSAA is 232.

Adding to class 6 would definitely be one way to do it. They at least managed to have equal teams in classes 2-5. I wish some of these 8 man teams that have the kids to play 11 man would go back to 11 man. Just doesn't seem like that is going to happen though.

If they don't fix class 1 more and more will go 8 man. There are a lot of schools hanging on but if the cut off goes any higher these schools will have no choice. There are at least 6 to 8 schools that could easily drop down to 8 man. The way they keep moving up the cutoff Lamar will be class 1 in 3 years. 🤣

It only makes sense to go to 6 equally balanced classes.

Put all those folks they hired to make sure not a penny sneaks past MSHSAA's coffers the last few years...just put them to work on making the classes. It's pretty easy.

Total schools /6= number in each class.

Move the private schools to wherever the legislature approved formula says...drop the few schools that moves down.

Done.

Osceola went with 131 so I can see those in the 140s that haven't had much success in a while bail for 'easier' competition.

Ive seen liberty play this year, wasnt very impressive as Grove should have beat them. Seneca will be more physical. Liberty needs to worry about getting past Grove in a rematch.
I’ve seen Grove. I wasn’t very impressed. I think the SCA is down. Overall. Ava wouldn’t be so down if the injury bug didn’t hit them so hard. It’s up in the air to me. I just think LMV has the “been there” but could be wrong.

Ava currently has around 5 starters out but they have been seeing young players really step up lately. They have a freshman QB who has started the last 3 games and has looked great! He is the typical Ava QB who is fast, makes good decisions and can run their triple option flexbone offense well. He brings something that previous Ava quarterbacks haven’t and that’s his passing ability. I wouldn’t count the Bears out of this district yet but right now it’s Liberty’s to lose.

Best RB in class 2 without a doubt, one of the best in the state.!
503 - havent seen you in awhile. I agree with you on Ava, as we learned in 2017 never count them out. I saw their film against Grove and they were impressive expecially on special teams and I agree without the injury bug it would be different, but this has given their young guys an opportunity to get meaningful reps on Friday nights which is huge as well.

Wouldn't shock me if Bowling Green takes out the D8 winner. That RB is a load.
1)Craziest Football Stat of the now completed regular season: Bowling Green's First Team Offense went the entire campaign without ever once being forced to punt. Moreover, the Bobcats Varsity Offense scored on all but three total drives in the first nine weeks of the Fall. Joe Chinn's team put up 638 points in the regular season, roughly 71 per contest.

That schedule.

Gross.

Is their RB a senior?

Yes he is.

Terrible schedule but they are very legit. Well coached (head coach is a Monroe City alum and top assistant is former Hannibal head coach Mark St. Clair).
That job will be open soon.

Look at those scores. Yikes.

Ava has a system. I don’t think they will just go away anytime soon.
