Not likely anybody does it to make sure the numbers stay in check. More likely they don't want the kid to get an injury in a game that's out of hand already. It is interesting how some coaches leave their players in to pad their stats and other coaches seem to pull kids quick to ensure their numbers stay in check. I’ve definitely seen it both ways.
She is deserving in my opinion. But I do agree that she scored more points than was necessary for her and her team to be successful. So, are you suggesting that Cauble is not worthy of nomination for one of the top 25 players in girls’ class 2 over the past ten years? I will defer to those more familiar with her achievements and assume they have an unbiased opinion as well......

I watched her one night (from my bench), play 7 minutes of the 8 minutes in a turbo-clock 4th quarter. After three quarters, Oran led by 30. I cleared my bench while the starting five for them continued to play and press. One-by-one the starters were replaced and she was the last starter to leave with 1:00 remaining. Not blaming her for still being in there and playing hard. I was proud of my bench because they played them even in that last quarter.
I wonder if that makes her coach a “neckass?” Lol. (You do need to teach me what that means or how it came about). She didn’t get much playing x at college this year
Top 25?? Yes definitely. I wasn't aware it was a top 25. I thought it was one single player. My fault guys. So, are you suggesting that Cauble is not worthy of nomination for one of the top 25 players in girls’ class 2 over the past ten years? Camdenton- Central?Oh, I hear ya. That’s just not good form. Sometimes, the stat-padding approach can eventually bite you. Plus, there is one less player on the bench who is getting their dues for the efforts they bring to the team.
Early in this past football season, someone posted the halftime stats of a local team.....I believe the quarterback had completed 26 passes and thrown for 8 touchdowns.....in the first half alone! But the stat that caught my eye? ZERO rushing attempts!! Not only was it obvious that someone was being pushed for all-state honors, but I knew it was at the expense of the team’s offensive balance.....They made it to post season undefeated with this approach, but it eventually caught up to them....
