What do you think of Thayer's draw? Or does it even matter?

I would say that Thayer will turbo Miller without a doubt.

And assuming that they play Sarcoxie in the second round(Cabool gave them almost more than they could handle last year, I was at that game), I would say Thayer takes down Sarcoxie by a score of....35-21...Thayer seems to have a rough time playing teams with speed

And the district title game of PC v.s. Thayer would probably be a Thayer W by a score of 42-28, but hell, it's district time so it's really hard to tell with this district. You've got teams like Thayer and Cabool, who even in their down years, give the top-seeded teams problems, because they're used to playing a much higher level of competition and much larger schools and better athletes week in and week out in the SCA

Will be interesting to say the least.

I do believe that Hayti is more than capable of taking Valle out in districts, they did a pretty damn good job last year and that was without their best athlete/player/leader.

It really is hard to tell, but I would think Thayer has at least a decent shot of advancing out of this district.

I agree. I would say they have a better chance than anyone else in the district.

Their only losses are to Class2 #4 Ava, Class 1 #9 Hayti, and Class 2 traditional power Mountain Grove by 1. Grove would still be ranked in the Top 5 if it wasn't for the injury of their first team all-everything QB mid season

Mountain Grove a traditional power? By what standards?

Oh I don't know, traditionally at the top of their conference, which is a tough one, and they are consistently competing for a District title while bouncing back and forth between Class 2 and 3. Might not be Lamar, Valle, or Webb, but they are top of the list every year in the SCA and make runs pretty consistently.

Thayer plays in the SCA which makes it hard to get a good read on them. The whole conference seemed pretty balanced except for a couple at the bottom. Does that mean the SCA was loaded with good teams or loaded with average teams?

Probably going to lean toward the latter on that question. It was good, but I don't how good. It kind of had the feel of the Big 8 and Small COC. Some average to above average teams, but not sure if there are any great teams (except Lamar).

In the last 13-15 years, you can look at the state rankings throughout the season. There are very few seasons(Maybe 2-3) that Mt. Grove wasn't ranked in the top 5 in either Class 2 or Class 3 at some point in the season, if not all season long.

I'm not even a Grove fan. But you can't deny their tradition.

Mountain Grove Since Maxpreps has kept track:

2004: 10-3

2005: 11-2

2006: 11-2

2007: 10-1

2008: 9-2

2009: 9-3

2010: 4-6

2011: 6-5

2012: 11-1

2013: 10-2

2014: 10-2

2015: 10-3

2016: 10-2

Only 9 double-digit winning seasons in the last 13 years. No big deal.

Nothing grinds my gears more than Championship or bust mentality on here. There's 60+ teams and only 1 champion. Doesn't mean all but one was trash.

Agreed. Grove being matched up with Liberty in districts has been a thorn the past 5-6 year. Well, the years that they were Class 2 at least. And even if they were to have gotten past liberty, then they would've had to play Lamar. So there's two of the top 3 programs in class 2 in the last 6 years standing right in their way. Hence why Grove is almost always in the top 5, but falls just short of making the playoffs.
