I'm curious how Center stacks up against the COC gauntlet that CJ has gone through? Are they closer to the elites Nixa/Joplin/Webb or closer to a Republic/Neosho(about where I think they are)... Or even a Ozark/Branson that has played an easy schedule??? After CJ's blowing out a 5-4 Grandview team last weak, I would think that some in the KC area might at least pump the breaks a bit on Center walking to a District Title.

I think the fact that they beat Pleasant Hill is a pretty good indication that they are the exception. Would love to be wrong but I think its going to be a long night for CJ

That Phill game did remove some doubts about Center and open some eyes to their overall speed. It's still hard for me to predict this one because I think CJ is better then Phill and won't be shocked by the speed given what they've already seen all year. All that being said, I'd say center is still a 2 TD favorite, but it will be close for a while in my estimation.

Grandview was also a no show at Kearney and Smithville who, granted, are not your average C4 teams by a long shot but the south KC metro Bulldogs really got pushed around in those two games and were easy money for CJ. I listed this game because it is, again, apples vs. oranges. No real way to know what to expect.

I saw the Center at Pleasant Hill game in full on local TV. The Roosters are obviously well coached and organized i.e. their execution wasn't bad it was just they could not handle all that speed. Won't really know about them until the C3 quarterfinals arrive.

But then you dig into PH's schedule and Center's schedule, and I pump the breaks on Center.

Funny how JustheFlatulence vanished when the K classes I said would be good, were. He is still a pussy. Two years ago, I said you could have old Col. Sanders coaching them, and they would be good.

I agree with you but let's see where they stack up vs. Smithville in 9 days. As for coaching I think NO WAY they win those first three this season on talent alone.

NO, the talent will really show through next year when they blowout everyone.
K probably had a higher overall talent level last year - but you saw the results.

Yep in the opener when nobody knew what anyone really had. I didn't see the Week 2 game vs. Grain Valley but score wasn't a blowout now look where it appears the Eagles are today. Class 4 District 7 will be at the top of my watch list as I witness the Platte County at Oak Park game in person (unless it does indeed storm - a little rain ain't gonna dent this old fan).

I normally don't like to talk about the next year until this one is gone but no doubt Kearney will be some kind of good next year while Smithville loses every single major contributor both sides of the ball. Wonder if they will "flip" this year's schedule or will new teams appear on the 2023 Dogs slate...........

Flip this year's schedule. Sad-- last year's K team might have had more overall talent than this one.

Fort loses a whole bunch, too, offensively but again that is stuff to chat about next year. Hoping K doesn't overlook Excelsior day after tomorrow then is ready to go full strength vs. the defending champs.

Excelsior will be violent, and bring it with what they have. They have guys going both ways, but they will not surrender.
