How do you think it'll go down? I think CBC 52-24.

Also what are some matchups you want to see? I want to see Webb City vs. Bentonville.

Bentonville isn't nearly as good since they have added another high school. Webb is 1-1 against them . Loss in 02 and win in 03 . Webb is I think 3-0 against Aquinas

I'd like to see Webb play jenks ok

Me too. I have a friend in Oklahoma that doesn't think any Missouri teams could hang with Oklahoma teams.

Well , he's probably wrong . DeSmet would have beat anyone in Oklahoma this year and Joplin and Webb would have a fighting chance . So would Ritter and LN

9 of 10 years your friend is correct.
By the way NOT a knock on MO. Much the opposite................the Tulsa area, per capita, produces an amazing wealth of HSFB talent. OU, OK State and other schools all the way to Tuscaloosa benefit from it...............

For what it's worth ....Owasso who beat Jenks in the state championship is ranked #91 by max preps ...Webb is ranked #50 in the nation . DeSmet is ranked #14 nationally call it bais but I think there is 5 or 6 teams in MO better than anything Oklahoma has to offer

Yeah, he wasn't buying any of that. Bixby is a smaller school, but they're ranked around 60 on Maxpreps, last I saw.
He said Oklahoma doesn't have any private school super teams. I wonder if they have something in their rules keeping them from forming. I would imagine you could put together one fine super team in the Tulsa area.

I don't like those rankings. I put more stock in what I know about the offseason programs, facilities, amazing tradition and support those programs have. Until these schools somehow play off all those rankings are just interesting reading. DeSmet is the one MO team I would actually like vs. the top ones in Tulsa. Last year's CBC is one I liked against virtually anyone Nationwide................a real rarity for our Show Me State.

Now as far as analyzing larger Metropolitan areas there is NO doubt St. Louis has moved up, private school stacking or not. What the new HC and his staff at Mizzou need to figure out is how to keep those top kids from going mostly east i.e. to Notre Dame and the top Big 10 schools especially Ohio State.

Again this is not a knock on MO. Doggone I wish I could find that tier list Floray came up with about 8-9 years ago!

I'm sure you could but they don't . Fact still stands that there are 5-6 teams in mo that would have their way w Owasso . One of my best friends has a son that is the qb for the Bixby Jr high team . They are really good too. There may only be 2-3 public schools in mo that could beat them but there is another 3 or so privates that would as well

Aquinas has come a long way the past five years BUT I virtually never like a KS school vs. MO. That being said there is one PUBLIC school just outside Wichita (Derby) I would like to see vs. any number of top MO programs.

And with that THERE is the matchup I would like to see: Derby vs. Webb City.

STA vs CBC? Interesting....

If I'm looking for an intrastate matchup between a KS and MO team in 2019, I'd want the following:

Smith Center vs Valle
Silver Lake vs Ava
Mill Valley vs Carthage
Miege vs Webb
Derby vs DeSmet

Calpreps has Aquinas and Bishop Miege winning:

[2019] Aquinas [St. Thomas] (Overland Park, KS) 38, [2019] Christian Brothers (St. Louis, MO) 35

[2019] Bishop Miege (Shawnee Mission, KS) 38, [2019] Christian Brothers (St. Louis, MO) 31
(This is way off, because BM beat Rock by 24 points. And Rock beat CBC by 20.) My guess would be BM 42 CBC 17

No surprise there. CBC is down this season. STA, despite being shocked at home in the semi finals by Mill Valley, is a very good team and would probably handle this year's CBC squad on a neutral field. Miege is a powerhouse that would light 2019 CBC up.

Would love to see what Calpreps predicts in the games I posted.

Aquinas beat Miege in the regular season by 2 scores

Oklahomas "super teams" are there public schools like Jenks and Broken Arrow who both have enrollments well over 3000 which is just insane

STA will be outstanding again next year. Mill Valley was there bogey team this year. Pushed them in regular season and got them in the next game. They have Tank Young back again next year, he’s an outstanding player. I think STA beats CBC next year

De Smet is going to be the team to beat in Missouri again next year. They will have 6 of the top 13 ranked seniors in Missouri.

Would love to see these MO Kan Catholics play a home and home series across classes.

Off the top of my head......

Kan schools:

St. James
StA
Miege
Colgan
Bishop Carroll
Kapaun
Bishop Ward lol
Hayden

MO schools:
Rockhurst
Chaminade
Vianney
CBC
DeSmet
Valle
SLUH
Trinity

maybe throw the Lutherans in there, too

Why did the ROCK quit their travel play? Games I remember them going to were Colorado and Vegas if I remember right. I think without stuff like that happening it’s hard to rank teams outside your state. Like WEBB playing Springdale you can kinda gauge how the states are by how they finished in their own states.

The Rock just doesn't get the top KC talent like they use to.

Travel cost my have something to do with interstate games too.

Just always thought it was cool. Figured it was insurance costs or something that put an end to it.

Because they used to be really good. They have plenty of teams locally to lose to. Like this year, they lost to Blue Springs, Blue Valley (KS), Liberty North, and Bishop Miege, they lost to this year by 28 points. I think that gauged out where Rock was.

KC Metro Ranking this year:

1. Bishop Miege (KS)
2. Mill Valley (KS)
3. Aquinas (KS)
4. Liberty North
5. Ray Pec
6. Odessa
7. Olathe North (KS)
8. Park Hill
9. Blue Valley (KS)
10. Rockhurst

SMH...really bad year on the Missouri side. Never seen more than 3-4 from Kansas deserve the top 10, and usually not the #1. Wow.
