Anyone game to seed the 8 girls teams?

1.Central
2.Fredericktown
3.SG
4.Potosi
5. AV
6.SI
7.Bismarck
8.Desoto

I personally would put Ste. Gen 2nd. Not a knock on FredMo at all but Ste. Gen is undefeated right now, Thursday and Monday could change that. I wouldn't move South Iron and I think DeSoto is definitely the 8. They lost almost all of their main contributors(minus their guard), and are struggling early. Bismarck has a couple of good athletes in Sago and Henson that are good enough to win them some games. I agree Potosi is playing well right now and might deserve a higher seed but unfortunately head to head records will keep that from happening.

Would love to hear the discussion in the seed meetings. 1 Central ... and Fred, Potosi, AV, and SG finding ways to avoid the 4/5 seed.

1. Central
2. Fredericktown
3. Potosi
4. AV
5. DeSoto
6. S.I.
7. Ste. Gen
8. Bismark

There is nobody that will give Central a game. This tournament needs better teams or central needs to get rid of it so there girls can play better competition.

This is the BEST atmosphere for any girls tournament. I cant see Central dropping the girls side of the tournament. I know that St. James was in it before--maybe some new blood is needed.

I'm gonna disagree with mike37. People forget that 6 years ago the lady rebel were struggling to win double digit games in a year. Granted the last 5 years have been pretty good, that doesn't mean you get a tournament that you will struggle to compete in year in and year out ala the Farmington girls tourney where you have Dexter, Cape, etc that are better than teams in our area most years, and it's the reason why they no longer have a Farmington boys tourney. In my opinion next year Central comes back to the pack a little bit. I think we'll still be good but it will be closer games with the top teams in the tournament. As far as this year goes, if Central has an off night it could be a ball game.

No surprise that SG and AV are 4/5. SG only did what they can do by beating the teams they scheduled. Undefeated but their competiion was down. Pius was down this year big time... Windsor, Valle, and Crystal City 10 years ago were very competitive ... and St. Vincent with Terry Wengert was always a well coached team. With that said the schedule appears to be lesser than what the other seeds play. SG eventually will be a player in the MAAA. Either this season or next. They are playing much faster and are deeper than in past years. If they ever find a way to shoot at a higher percentage then they could give a lot of teams fits.

AV I think is as good as anyone in the MAAA outside of Central. I know record wise they are not where they want to be, but I don't think they should be overlooked by any means. The 4/5 game should be a good game.

Cape girls haven't been good for several years. Cape ND has been down a year or two compared to what they are used to. Saxony has some injury issues but their loss to Twin Rivers was more about TR being better than they have been the last couple of years than Saxony being down.

I agree the atmosphere is great but most of that is because of the boys. I think Christmas is a great time to challenge your team and get a chance to play some different competition. Go play out of the area. The kids don't have school and homework to worry about. I still say there is nobody in the tournament that will test Central, all they will get out of it is a trophy. That is why St james got out of it, nobody to test them.

Go get Sullivan, neelyville, Dexter, Saxony, St james, Cuba, anybody that has good programs year in and year out.

Sorry, I was referring more to Notre Dame than Cape Central, I agree Cape Notre Dame has been down the last couple but they still beat Farmington this year, which is kind of the point I was trying to make.

I still think after this year, the girl's side of the Christmas tournament gets more competitive at the top, not saying it won't be this year, Central will still have to compete well.

I agree also it would be nice to get one or two of the teams Mike37 mentioned, problem is they are already involved in tournaments at Christmas time, and again you want to be careful to not get a tournament that is again dominated by one team.

Having said all that, I love the Christmas tournament, both sides. I think it's a great atmosphere and a fun time for the kids to play in front of really good crowds most years.

Yeah all the teams mentioned from Cape to the south are in the long standing Twin Rivers Tourney and the one at the Show Me Center.

Can Ste gen play with Central. They have a couple of good guards and some size. I think it will be close for a little while and the Central will wear them down. If Fredricktown had anbody off the bench I think they could. There 2 big girls should give central fits inside.

Central over Fredericktown in a blowout for 1st; Potosi blows a 19 point lead in a buzzer beating loss to Ste Gen for 3rd.
