Were moving the ball on the last drive well but fumbled at the 18 cTOWN recovered it. cTOWN went three and out but the Jackson QB fumbled first play and cTOWN recovered at the 38. cTOWN immediately goes to the air and BOOM TD!!!

cARTHAGEs Mueller takes the ball for a 96 yard TD scamper called back for holding...

Jackson scores to end the half in 9 plays from the 38. cARTHAGE secondary playing well. Jackson wanting to throw a lot but cTOWN ain’t letting that happen..

Jackson comes out late at half gets penalized on second half kick off. Returned fumbles the ball at the 5 so didn’t bother Jackson anyway..

cTOWN has moved the ball pretty well. cARTHAGE recovers the fumbled kick off. And go four and out...

This was quite a game. I thought the teams were very evenly matched and both fought to the end. It was a penalty away from becoming a runaway game for Carthage and a penalty away from maybe being a win for Jackson. A few observations from the game -
  • Jackson’s crowd as stated in the other thread. Wow.
  • Carthage came out ready to win. The offense looked totally worn in the second half but wanted it bad enough to get it done. Impressive.
  • There was a huge shift in momentum when it looked to be 21-0 but then just like that it was 14-14 to open the second half. It had a bad feel similar to the game vs WC but in this case Carthage did a good job of weathering the storm when nothing was going their way for a period of time.
  • How many points has Carthage given up this year on the final seconds of the first half?
  • I was really impressed with Carthage D. Although Jackson moved the ball well at times, Carthage was all over them much of the game. By the same token, Jackson did a heck of a job limiting big plays by Mueller and Co. There just weren’t many big plays allowed by either team.
  • Glad to see Carthage finally get it done. They’ve seemed on the cusp for an extraordinarily long time.
