WHAT A DUNK BY HODGES!

Central needs to thank Notre Dame for waking them up Tuesday night.

The Oswald kid did a tremendous job guarding Jenkins in the post.

Train, the success of any basketball program is defense. The defense does not have bad nights but the offense can struggle and have off nights with 3-point shooting. Cape looked like they came to play, was all business and did bring their quickness to the Cape gym last night. Our leader MOsportsStaff is reporting Coach Drew Church and his " Cape Central Tigers are an early favorite to bring back the class 4 championship back to southeast Missouri however I will point to class 4 district 13 ( Grandview 23-2 ) as a co favorite with Cape Central to win class 4. After careful review of their roster, scores, record and conversation, Grandview may repeat as class 4 state champions. The MSHSAA has told me personally they want a fair advantage for all of their member schools

I believe the MSHSAA should address playing district finals on participants home court. The Sikeston @ Cape Central class 4 district final is an example. Sikeston defeated Cape Central two times on Sikeston's home court and Cape Central won the district on their home court. I rest my case! The MSHSAA must admit, the home court has a small advantage.

I believe some states do not allow a " Home Court " advantage in district and state play. I believe " MOsports Staff " and other power players in Missouri should bring the above to attention of the MSHSAA with a possible vote by our school district members.

I called MSHSAA concerning having 6 classes. Nice guy Kevin Garner called me back and stated they were looking @ " The 6 class thing " but no decision had been reached as of last week. The power players @ the MSHSAA are in meeting in Springfield this week.

I have no problem with a district team as host. Also do not see the need to water down competition any further by adding a class. At some point, you have to just turn the unis in and start getting ready for next year.

Hmmm ... I thought you’d say the orange wall is the only reason Central won. Lol.

They got the home court advantage by the coaches in the district voting to host the districts. MSHSAA had nothing to do with that. On the other hand, since MSHSAA gets 98% of the money, they should be able to find a central, neutral location for all the teams after the districts are assigned. Work for a little bit of the money they make off of all the teams that host the districts. LOL

Cape has to get by Farmington 1st. They are the kind of team that causes them fits. Last time cape won districts they got upset by Farmington the following round. But if they do that I can see them playing Grandview in championship.

Cape used what has made Sikeston so dominate in the past decade against them last night....great transition offense, hard nosed D, athletic guards, and not much size.

As stated earlier, Sikeston defense wasn’t what it has been in years past and that was evident last night. When they tried to up the tempo cape scored at will.

Unfortunately, the MSHSAA tournament championship isn’t like the NCAA tournament championship in terms of trying to get the best four teams to the final four. Can’t send Cape Central out west like you could send a Duke to west region. State tournament is meant to crown the best team, not put best two in a championship game.

The top two teams in class 3 appears to be Vashon and Trinity. They play in a sectional game on Sat. 1:00 PM. These two teams can compete with any high school team in Missouri including the likes of a CBC, Webster, Marquette, DeSmet, Columbia Rock Bridge or anyone in class 4 team like favorites Cape Central and Grandview. Am I wrong about the above?
