Can't Imagine ESPN ever writing an article like this about the SEC.

Fox is mad they have to show ku-Baylor for their prime time college football game.

although it is all true.. you are right, no chance ESPN would have such a story on its pages or air.... to much invested.

For seven years, as the SEC lorded its string of BCS championship trophies over the rest of college football, its coaches reminded us at every turn just how tougher, stronger and faster their conference was than everyone else's. As insufferable as it may have seemed at times, it was hard to argue otherwise.

Dear SEC Haters,

Who won more bowl games than the SEC over this supposed 'down two years'?

Love,
People that can do math.

Pull one from your book. Can you deny anything in that article?

His opinion is fine. Just like his opinion on Jameis.

Fact is SEC won more bowl games than another other conference each of the last two years...and haters like you say they're 'down'.

What's that tell ya? That tells you they're so much better than everyone else that when they only win a couple more bowl games they're down.

Sorry man but 14 bowl wins is still better than anything any other conference did. Fact.

Is that more bowl wins than the ACC and bigBevo combined? I looked it up. Big Bevo was 3-3/2-5...ACC was 5-7 /5-6. So those two conferences combined won one more bowl game. Clearly the SEC is slipping

FYI Mizzou is 2-0 in bowls during this down time. Both victories were very satisfying.

Did you even read the article?

How did the ACC do against the SEC last year?

The article was about bowl games son. Stick to the topic. Maybe SG should play webb and then we'd compare west and east HS football..the best of the ACC played the lower tier SEC teams...and struggled. Kentucky? Really?

Again..why don't you see articles about the ACC struggling when they win more bowls than anyone else? Oh ya...because they dont.

Really, how many bowl games did an SEC team play up in ranking?

Sooooo does Miss. State Bama not get the benefit of playing those same teams? Interesting how it's a grueling schedule until another conference goes 4-0 in one weekend against another. Then it's just the other conference beating up on the weaklings.

Good lord, are we comparing UCM to Mizzou? Stay on topic.

BTW you should read this article. It speaks the truth.

West was 10-4 vs. the East in the SEC last year. How did the West manage in bowls? 2-5.

Again, how many times did an SEC team play up in ranking?

I've said all that needs said. Your article claiming the sec is down yet still won more bowls again.

Have the last word. You make a fine wife.

While Pinkel’s Tigers have been the class of the SEC East the last two years, going 7-1 in league play to capture the division outright both years, the league dynamics have started to resemble Missouri’s days in the Big 12. The Tigers’ rise to power in the Big 12 North coincided with drop-offs at traditional powers Colorado, Kansas State and Nebraska. To MU’s credit, Pinkel’s team capitalized and dominated the division in 2007-08.

Holy F@ck, somebody finally understands how overrated the SEC is. Did the ground get colder or is it just me?

Yep that's the reason. And there you have proof about what the writer just said. Excuses. Bahahaha
Excuses are different than reasons. Fox would take this excuse-ridden conference over any conference they currently show.

Has everyone forgotten that it's been two and a half years (ie: three seasons ago) since the SEC won a national title (they didn't even have a representative in the title game a season ago)?

Still the best conference top to bottom, no doubt, but the top teams in other conferences have clearly caught up (even if those other conferences as a whole, top to bottom, have not...)

Yes, I think it's quite clear that Ohio state and Florida state and (maybe) Oregon have reached the level of bama and auburn, but as you point out, the depth of the SEC is what sets it apart.

I'd put TCU right up there, too (I just haven't bought into Baylor mentality yet; Patterson of TCU is at least known for being a defensive minded coach, even if his team didn't show it last year...)

I want to see tcu repeatedly win double digit games in the big 12 before I really buy that they're a great program. Their first two season in the big 12 were not impressive.

I will give you 2013 was not overwhelming but the amount of key players they lost to drug arrests and the losses of a very talented backfield due to injury killed them. TCU had a very very young inexperienced squad take the field in 13. What was unimpressive about last season? 12-1 including a 30-7 win over Minnesota ( they scored 17 on MU) and a beat down of Ole Miss 42-3 in the Peach Bowl. Ended the season ranked 3rd but were unimpressive to you. Where do you get your high standards?

Last year was their 3rd season in the conference. I said their first 2 seasons.

So TCU can use excuses for rough seasons...Mizzou can't.

Check.

Didn't read that anywhere but whatever. TCU lost a bunch you wanted credit for losing DGB. Regardless after a 12-1 season and a complete demoralizing beat down of the SECs then # 2 #3 team I think TCU earned a little cred which is the only point I was after.

TCU beat a middling SEC west team that went 2-4 down the stretch including getting beat by Arky 30-0. When OM lost their WR they were DONE.

And I was talking about Mizzou's 5-7 season when everything that could go wrong did go wrong. Pretty sure the haters were on a high after that.

and it's funny how TCU can have two seasons in the big 12 that were blah at best then one good season and you proclaim them a great program...Mizzou has one 5-7 season and follows that with two good ones and they're still no good. Haters gonna hate.

Not so much now.

I thought veer was talking about 2012 mizzou with their injuries.

I never proclaimed TCU to be anything I simply asked how Cow was less than impressed. Why do you read something different than what any if our posts say?

You made excuses for TCU going 4-8 in the big 12. You didn't make excuses for Mizzou going 5-7 in the SEC...for the same reason (except Mizzou had MANY more injuries).

Hater.

And TCU looked good last year. I'd like to see them against a quality opponent.

Funny how Ole Miss wasnt a quality opponent after they lost to TCU. Yes Miss had a few losses late by 3 at LSU and by 4 to Auburn but please TCU beat them by 39, 42-3...
Why would I make excuses for MU? Your the one throwing it out their every month, every week, every day how great they are. Im sure you handled the excuses quite well. Misery did not have more injurys nor did they lose 4 defensive starters preseason due to suspension. I believe 2013 TCU started the season 8 experienced starters down. Your "Hater" makes you look dumb. Nobody hates MU just some of the goobs that dillusionaly overbrag their worthiness while trashing other GREAT teams. You know like you do every year about teams like Ohio State, FSU and conferences like all of them except the SEC. But hey maybe Georgia or SC will fall on their face again and Misery can win the titty side and you can hang another second place banner in your boy cave...

Arky beat OM by 30.

30-0.

Arky.
