Can Camdenton upset the Cards?

Yes they can. No they will not. Camdenton does not live far enough away from Webb City to deserve any chance of advancing. Only teams from further away deserve ANY opportunity to advance.

Why it is ridiculous for a person to want the best teams in the Championship game, the best teams in the semi-finals, 1/4 finals?

They are so give it a rest
You want to give it a rest then scroll on. The GREATEST, most popular tournament hands down, is the NCAA basketball tourney. LAST YEAR: Teams in the SOUTH: Cincinnati OH, (you cross that Ohio river from KY to Cincinnati and you are NOT in the south any more) Loyola IL, Manhattan, KS. Creighton (Omaha NE), Teams in the WEST: Florida State, Michigan, Missouri. teams in MIDWEST: Clemson S.C., Rhode Island, Syracuse - notice the pattern? The GREATEST, most popular tournament on the planet an LOCATION does not matter.

Because it just is never guaranteed to happen, no matter how you want to design the tournament. It's subject to subjectivity, anyway. What you think is the #2 team I may not.
My guess is that you want credit for being #2. Or #4, or #10, or whatever. Which is why they started tinkering with they system 10 years ago. So that the also-rans could get a round further than before, and get a feather for their cap or a patch for their jacket.
The goal of the system is (and should be) to determine a champion. Nothing more.

Agreed that it is not guaranteed. But I ask, why is it wrong to try? Why is it OK to have teams celebrating "District CHampionships, "sectional wins when they very possibly would not get out of the 1st round of districts if in a different district? The general attitude that this is sour grapes or whatever is quite hilarious. My team lost, we did not make plays when we needed and were sent home as we should have been. However, that does not dismiss the fact that really good teams go home and very mediocre teams play on because of where they are located.

But the very mediocre teams don't win the title, so the goal of determining a champion is effectively accomplished. I don't think it's sour grapes so much as it is the "we're #2" chanters wanted to be rewarded.

This used to be a great competitive rivalry back in the 90s but a lot has changed in the football landscape over the years. Camdenton does looks better than they have been in several years so it might turn out to be a good game but this seems to me to be one of the cases where comparing records doesn't paint a very accurate picture. I've thought too many times "this should be a good game" only to see WC up by 5 touchdowns early in the 3rd.
