MEC not what it used to be
They have a higher average team ranking pure and simple. Just a much shallower resource pool.If this is a computer ranking system, how is the COC ranked higher than the Ozarks conference at this point when neither conference has played any out-of-conference games?
When did that happen?Yep, the days of having 3 semifinal teams in games in Class 2,3,4 are long gone
Not sure if that ever happened in a single season, but Cameron in Class 2, Maryville in Class 2 and 3, Platte County and Chillicothe in Class 3, and Savannah and Benton in Class 4 all made runs. I'm not sure if LeBlond, Smithville, and Lafayette ever did. When did that happen?
Here's what Calpreps has for Monett:How does Cal preps get their information, If you go out and look at their weekly predictions many games are missing. I notice Monett has not had any games listed or predicted. I assume that is because they get information from Maxpreps? and I don't think we enter anything? There is another conference team the same way.
Over the past 10-15 years, there has been a shift in the MEC teams. Benton was once a strong force, but has fallen on hard times in recent years. Lafayette used to be everyone's favorite homecoming opponent, but they have turned around and become a quality team each year. Savannah is the same way. Cameron is struggling, and not just in FB. Maryville obviously has a great program going right now. Chillicothe's last state title was 91, last show me bowl appearance was 93 and had just 2 semi-final appearances since 1997. Things change, teams, coaches, programs change. In the end, most conferences have a top notch team or two and a team or two that struggles.MEC not what it used to be
Here's what Calpreps has for Monett:
WINS:
#4015 Seneca (MO) (35-28),
#4813 Lamar (MO) (28-7),
#6902 Marshfield (MO) (49-20),
#7346 Logan-Rogersville (Rogersville, MO) (46-14)
LOSSES:
#2042 Mt. Vernon (MO) (22-21),
#3006 Cassville (MO) (21-14)
Is this incorrect?
Also, Calpreps does not make predictions for any game prior to Oct. 1 and they do not do 8 man predictions. Which games are missing?
Looking at their projections, they predict Monett beating Seneca 28-21 on 10/4 and Monett beating East Newton 44-3 on 10/11.
Try using ctrl f to search for your team on there it makes it a lot easier than scrolling all the way throughI looked last night and did not see it, but you are right there it is...crap must be blind.
but I don't see the Seneca MV match up listed, Do you see it? Never mind I see it in the non league, maybe that is why I have been missing them.
Suprised to see SEMO North ranked that high.
Why state the obvious?*Incoming post about how none of them would make it in the KC Suburban Conference...

Chilli Cassville 2008, Cameron 2004 and 5 I think, not sure about the restWas thinking the 2 years Cameron went to finals in Class 2 also had Chilli/Cassville in semifinal and Webb/Benton and the other year was Webb/Savannah and Maryville/Harrisonville. Maybe have my years mixed up.
