Says it is not realistic and can't be done.

Since high speed rail is the cornerstone of the New Green Deal kinda makes you wonder if flying carpets are the next big thing for libs

I still haven't figured how you would get to another country with high speed rail or how many trains it would take to replace all the planes that fly across this country every day. Imagine how many jobs would be lost if all the airlines shutdown.

It's not cancelled, you moron. They are still building the rail line

And 3R, it's not going to kill the airline industry. But it's a serious industry for 500ish mile travel. It works all over the world.

Californias initial cost estimate was $10 billion ten years ago when it was voted on, and that's one line from LA to SF. Now it's up to almost $100 billion and completion in 2035 but they are now saying private and federal funding will be required cause California can't pay for it if it actually continues

Just let Elon Musk build the Hyperloop. It will be faster and more efficient than anything the government could cook up.

Did you see the demonstration section of the hyperloop ?????,,,that's a complete joke

I didn't, but as a concept it's intriguing. If we could get some kind of mag-lev train running alongside I-70 that could get you from Maryland to Utah in hours instead of days, I'd be for it.

Problem is how many people from Kansas City and St. Louis travel to the sister city on a daily basis and end there??? Most traffic on I-70 blast right past KC and St Louis and keep traveling east and west. What are you going to do ride the hyperloop to St Louis in 30 minutes then get off and rent a car to drive to Chicago???

Kind of missing the point. It opens up job opportunities on both sides of the state. If I can live in Arnold and make better money working in Lee's Summit than I could in St. Louis that boosts the entire region economically.

Flying is a hassle. If I can take my own car and go from St. Louis to KC in 30 minutes, I'll take that over air travel anyday.

That's not the hyperloop concept. Neither can be done though

Just the high speed train from La to SF is so expensive they are now saying it will need a hundred billion in private and federal govt investments if it ever happens. That is existing technology we can't even afford a short 500 mile stretch of it

I didn't say it would, Dirty Dan says the green new deal wants to do away with all air travel and tear down every building in the country. I have explained in another thread it does not say tear down every building but there ain't no talking to to him and Miller about it.
