A few lead changes in the 4th Q

Big #3 on the bench with 4 fouls the last few minutes for Staley

Calvary leads 52-50 with 2:57 to go in regulation

58-53 Calvary with 1:13 to go.

FTs are going to be what cost Staley this game. They have at least 4-5 misses in the second half.

I chuckled when in another thread it was mentioned that Staley could win the whole thing.

The KC area has, what, 3 championships in the largest class since 2000 and a very small percentage of the titles all-time? I wish it were not so, but it's laughable to me that a KC area school is ever ranked #1. Then again, what do I know? Maybe the trend is going to shift after nearly 100 years of basketball playoffs in Missouri.

Staley is the class of C6 this year. They play Poo today, and probably in the state semifinal.

I said that and Poo found out how good they are. I would have never guessed Fish would score just 4 points are whatever. They could have still won the game with better foul shooting. But that’s how it goes some times. Not a team in that field that they can’t play with. Hell Pembroke Hill played Link Respectable.

Their loss to the most historically dominant and tradition rich program in STL makes the point that basketball in STL is just different?

Yes. That and the enormous disparity of state titles between the Kansas City area and the St. Louis area. I'm not saying Staley won't run the table and win state this year, they very well may, but the odds and history are very much against it. I wish it weren't so.

These were pretty much the 2 best HS boys teams in the state and the game was decided on a last second shot. Who forgive me if I think it doesn’t say as much as you think it does lol

Again, my contention isn't that Staley isn't going to win state. They probably have the talent to do it. I hope they do, in fact.
