I am not posting my picks until Friday just will say here we are 5 weeks in and Highway 92 is a combined 18-2 and one of those was within the group (PC at Kearney). That being said I do think the least proven of the four is Excelsior but that will change this week. I have made up my mind about where I am heading Friday and it will be Smithville. So far the weather looks great................

Remember to bring a motorscooter, a Sherpa guide and several canteens of water. Those visitors bleachers are quite the hike at Smithville lol

810 Varsity's weekly 'Prediction Machine' picked Platte County and Odessa.

Noticed a lot of those in the NWMO Pick'em have Smithville.

Until Smithville can prove they can win... go with history. Same sentiment when it comes to Platte Co v Kearney or Ex Springs vs top half of C4 D8.

The 'what ifs' and opinions are part of what make's Friday nights a whole lot of fun.

Plus you don't know, until they all play one another, who may simply have that "one" special team. Week 6 will unfold some of this................and I agree it will be FUN!

Top: Post some updates so those of us at other games can get more than just the belated score. Sometimes ScoreStream is ScoreSLOW_AS_HELL.

My guess is Platte lacks the firepower to walk over Smithville. I've read and seen that Smithville possess the seniors to guard them. If Smithville wants to be a team of consequence, they need to prove it Friday night. History is not on their side.
I'm guessing Smithville plays their defense with 10 seniors. Whether there returnees or not, they've played a bunch football for a team that has a bunch of kids out for football in a school of 850 or so kids. Platte County should win because they are larger and so is Kearney. We shall see.

My guess is Odessa is better than an Ex Sprgs that graduated an outstanding option quarterback, but that is the extent of my guess. Ex Springs is exciting to follow for except for last year, they have struggled.

Kearney has lost to Staley and though they've soundly defeated Platte County, I don't think that's impressive. My opinion doesn't matter, and its influenced heavily in comparing past teams to 2018. However, this team still wins games by playing good defense, making plays when needed passing, running and winning in the special team's battles. All of this is a guess, guess, guess. All the teams I have seen play this year look even to me. But this is a guess.

If Smithville comes out and dominates Platte County like Kearney did, then things will get REAL interesting through the playoffs.
