C1 - DISTRICT 1 FINALS SET

Naylor defeats Van Buren 1-0 to advance to the finals of the Class 1, District 1 tournament to be played at Three Rivers College tomorrow at 11 AM. Erika Engelman fannned 15 batters, while Van Buren's Gavvy Cipponeri struck out 12. Both pitchers broke up each other's no-hit bids.

Neelyville was defeated 4-1 by Oran in the other semi-final game.

Naylor and Oran meet again in the finals tomorrow.

MSHSAA called and would not allow us to move the game up to 11am and beat the rain. So, the game is scheduled for 4pm.

Also looks like they won't be playin at 4 around here. District at Jackson moved theirs up to 11 so I'd say they got it done and Kelly is supposed to start at 2, they might make it too.

Why aren't they playing the Oran Naylor game on Saturday?

3R has 3 teams coming in tomorrow for fall scrimmage games starting at 9:30am. Had MSHSAA allowed them to play at 11:00 today it would have been over at least an hour before the rain came.
