With 3 jumpers in the finals Sikeston ended up with a 1st, 4th and 6th place finsh. Sikeston scored 18 points in this event and now after 7 events lead current 2nd place Boonville 34 to 18 points.

Sikeston's senior Cal Lane won the event with a winning jump of 48 ft and 3 inches.

The senior Cameron Carr of Kearney was second and Matt Bell of MICDS was third.

Cal Lane's seed was 48-3....his actual jump was 49-9 to break his own school record which he set in last year's state meet. For those curious, 49-9 is still two feet off the state record in Class 3. Pretty remarkable feat by Lane, nonetheless.

On their way to the state championship this year, Sikeston scored 34 of their 44 points in the jumps. 18 in the triple jump, 10 in long jump and 6 in high jump...all seniors. Not to mention that Fondon, who was seeded fifth in the long jump failed to qualify for the finals.
