and Grichuk sits. Bourjos can't even steal a base and get it right. He did NOT over slide the base, he started to get up with one foot and one knee straddling the base while the tag was still on him. Just slide in, stay down and ask for timeout. There is NO reason to get up with the fielder standing that close, much holding the tag on you. The boy just doesn't have any baseball sense about him.

Ha Ha. He does remind me of a high school track star who decides to try to play baseball during the summer.

Hmmmm... interesting.

Where is the post talking about Bourjos winning the game

Or should the post be about an MVP type center fielder with a very good arm playing so deep he couldn't even throw out Molina on the play? Congratulations to Pete, glad he he had a good day and helped the Birds win another big one. There is still no way he should have been playing ahead of Grichuk. And someone tell me why Matheny would NOT pinch run for Molina, at least when he got to 2nd base. I know what he said after the game, that Molina is too valuable behind the plate to take out. The line used to be they only had two catchers and couldn't risk it, which was NOT the case today.

Trust me I was yelling as loud as I could to get pitch runner in to no avail. It all worked out.

I think the shutout pitching might have won the game... Maybe I am wrong here...........

The way Bourjos is swinging the bat right now, I think it's a wash between him in CF and Jay in RF vs. Jay in CF and Grichuck in RF. Would like to see them all in there vs. lefties possibly. Be nice if Jay or Holliday could play 1B to spell Big Country every once in a while. I can't imagine Holliday being any worse at 1B than he is in LF. That said, Jay is probably more capable of it. Adams is in a funk, and hasn't been very good against lefties. Wouldn't hurt to get him some down time, especially with a lefty on the mound.

That one was perplexing. Sort of one of those Matheniging moments, that the Birds won in spite of. Hard to explain the lack of a move with AJ and Cruz both active and available...Miller looked GOOD. Spotting the fastball for once. Working quickly and keeping the ball down. Need to burn him a few copies of that game and have him watch them daily.

Agree wish Holliday could play first, but too many chances for him to get his feet tangled up, plus he would have to use his glove way too often. Hope he gets hot again in Brew town
