SWJ--Here we go:

1. Borgia
2. Pacific
3. Washington
4. Union

5. Cardinal Ritter
6. McCluer North
7. Carnahan
8. Normandy

9. North Tech
10. Soldan
11. Fatima
12. St. Louis " Blue Knights "--This is a Home schooled team.

Two champions! Fatima and the St. Louis Blue Knights could be in for a big surprise.

Remember when the Borgia tourney was packed every night? Remember when people were lined up waiting to get in? Remember when it was a "must attend" event for everyone in the area, of all ages? A home school team???? It's sad, I hate to see traditional things go by the wayside.

My sources tell me, more home schools are welcome in the future. Does this mean all ' Home school students " in the St. Louis area will form one team and enter the Borgia tournament? What say you, St. Louis basketball fans?

Me too. It's kind of a bummer. My first year at STC we played Washington in the first round. Suggs was a senior, I think. Place was jam packed. Lots of D-I head and assistants there to see Suggs. We lead them the whole game until Suggs went top of the circle to top of the circle in about 4 seconds and hit a 3 to beat us by 1. Place went batcrap with all the locals there. Forgetting the loss, it sure was an awesome atmosphere. It got less exciting every year after that it seemed. And the crowds got smaller and smaller. A lot of the local teams bailed, which I assume is the reason for the crowds.

I don't need "sources" to tell me they have home schools because they want a full tourney and don't have regular high schools. If they get 16 regular schools to play in the future the home schools will be sent to their drive way to play.

MOsportsStaff, I'm guessing any student who drops out of high school would be eligible for a home school team. Home school teams could be very good in the future. The home school teams have no rules. I'm guessing the players could be 19 years old if born after July 1. The possibilities are endless.

how much longer will their actually be high school sports?
insurance and injury issues in football
cost to schools with ailing budgets
NCAA allowing all the recruiting in the spring and summer
soccer already is pushing their top players into academies rather than play high school
sports such as Hockey don't need high school and do just fine.

So that being said, maybe everyone will be playing home school ball soon....I'll be retired so I guess it's an issue for others to deal with.
