This is my first post on this site. I have read these threads over the years and laughed, got PO'd, and thought that most of you needed to get a life. But I have personally been called into this fight. I am the web TV announcer for Bolivar, and I have called games for several years on the radio and web tv. Yes I did say that the turbo clock was in effect, it was a fact. We did a joint broadcast for Log - Rog and Bolivar. I totaly respect coach Smith and his staff and how greatly improved the program has become, like fighting simon I am glad that we have this rivalry and competition. I am paid by Bolivar sponsors so I am going to be a homer, just like any small town announcer, but I never try to down grade programs, coaches or KIDS. I never thought we had the game won until the last touchdown. Log-Rog is that explosive. Zimmer and Cole can bust one any time, they are big, strong and fast. LR defense gave us fits in the first half(33 yards rushing and one big TD pass). ten years ago when coach Roweton came here and we had not won a game the year before he did not cry about Nixa hanging 65 in our back side at our homecoming or Branson, Ozark ect blowing us out. Instead he went and built a program. Kids lifting and running at 6:00 am every day, going to 7 on 7, and getting more kids involved in the program. He does have a great team this year and the competition until Catholic had been way over matched. He has talked to me about trying not to run the score up. He has played JV's in first half and freshmen closing out the game. I have even asked if taking a knee or running out of bounds is not more of an insult than letting the JV score. What is he supposed to do? He knows what it is like on the other side believe me. Districts start next week, the varsity has not played much more than a half all year. It is ashame that a great, hard hitting, clean ball game for a confernce championship has been drug to this level. The Buffalo coach had the right idea, play the game to your best potential and if we can not stop you then we will coach our kids up, work them harder and build our program so it doesn't happen again.(side note. That will happen, he has his kids attention and they are getting better) Bolivar has to play WC to advance every year and when they beat us by 3-4 TD's you will not hear me say they are running it up, you will hear me say Coach Roweton will take the kids back and work to make them bigger, stronger and faster. They will look at what the teams that beat them do and try to learn from it and get better. If that happens then that gentleman is what is great about high school sports. Setting a goal, working for it and realizing it. Good luck to L-R and all the COC schools in the play offs.
