Can anyone confirm the 100-6 score? What were the quarter margins?

Sounds like it was pretty ugly with Bismarck only getting 1 FG.

With 61 losses in a row, and scores like this could Bismarck move to a JV schedule to benefit the growth of players?

KFMO said 56-5 at half.

I think the question is why would WC do that to a conference school and a WC alum as head coach?

According to kfmo.com that score is accurate. It doesn’t give a quarterly score breakdown.

It seems pretty bush league...no reason to put up 44 in the 2nd half on that team. Young coaches don't always make the best decisions.

South Iron girls beat Valley 98-9 last night.

Valley has 4 wins, including a 46-28 victory over Bismarck.

South Iron also beat Bismarck 79-0 in the first game of the season. WTH?

Sure. Pass the ball around. Run a minute off the clock each possession. Teams do it all the time. There is never a good reason to embarrass someone.

We would run motion with a number behind it. The number indicated how many passes prior to looking to score. Opponents most of the x didn’t even realize we were just attempting to shorten the game while running our offense

Why even look to score? Great time to work on nothing but delay game.

I think it is time to explore an early termination rule. Any time one team is up "x" points game is over and teams play an exhibition contest for remainder of the game clock.

some Coaches consider stalling with a lead, rubbing it in also. Plus I wanted my bench to improve but not at the expense of embarrassing an opponent

Not sure what size schools are in that area, but a lot of smaller schools barely have enough girls players for a varsity team

And these scores are without a shot clock. I suppose the teams that are ahead could just come down and get shot clock violations every time, but isn't that the same thing as stalling, except you have a bunch of turnovers that weren't warranted?

The termination rule would eliminate playing time for the team that is not very good. They need that game time for player development. I think the thought of playing A jv only schedule is not a bad idea. Or maybe a jv game with a 2 quarter varsity game

Not having varsity games messes with every other school that is on their schedule (non-con games, con games, tourneys). Trickle down effect to find other schools to play, and creates a nightmare for coaches/ADs.

Thinking more game time when they are losing by 60+ every night is good for "player development" is ridiculous. That's not how teams/players "get better" as some people post on here in these types of situations. Only way individuals improve a skill is by putting the time, energy, and effort into their craft. They must sacrifice time, money, social status if they want to compete. The biggest change has to happen with the parents. They have to instill the interest for their children at a young age and nurture their development. Sports is no different than real life. Can't expect the school/government to do everything for the athlete/people. If they want to be good at something they have to put the time in themselves.

MSHSAA should create a new running clock rule that automatically starts when a team is up 40+ points. No matter the quarter. This should be in football too. That way varsity games still go a full four quarters, and theoretically scores shouldn't be as lop sided.
