three regulars hitting under .200 and their cleanup hitter slugging .323. Surely all four will get better. Won't they?

Truth. I think all four will get better. I also think the schedule might get a bit rougher. The pitching might be enough to keep them in the race. Maybe. Can Gant and Brebbia get spots in the pen now??? Mo is going to have to learn how to use the 10 day DL LAD style with all the available arms. Anybody that has options should be on the Memphis train. The bullpen is really exciting. I honestly think Leone/Gregerson/Norris/Holland could evolve into one of those pens where you just get 5 from the starter and take your chances...Now if we can just figure out how many little injuries Waino needs to have to get Flaherty and Reyes about 25-30 starts between the two of them.

We look like a playoff team so far, no doubt

Cards are scoring 5 runs a game right now, I don't think I'd project improvement into our offense overall. But, you can certainly see arguments for how this team could win 90 - Fowler/Ozuna can certainly play better, Holland is coming around, Reyes comes back at some point, Mikolas looks like a fine replacement for Lance Lynn, etc. A couple guys probably can't keep up what they are doing (Pham isn't going to hit .370, Molina isn't going to hit 30 HR, and one of our young starters probably goes on the DL at some point), but the overall trends are pretty good!

And Flaherty is taking Waino's spot again, so that can't hurt.

I like the four relievers you mention, and I'd like to start seeing a lot less of Jordan Hicks.

Surely Reyes has to be in the pen for awhile to build up strength/avoid overuse

Hicks is fools gold right now. .5K/inning. One hit/inning. Darned near a walk/inning. It's a miracle he hasn't given up more than he has.

Can we see less of Bowman too?

Would think the same of Reyes. Pretty sure I read 100 innings this year and 150 next. Can't remember where I read it though.

Nope, Gant is already gone again. Brebbia needs a private jet. :p
