Is this the new trend?
Marshfield, Glendale and Bolivar beating up on much smaller schools to get wins. Is Kickapoo going to get in the Diamond girls tourney? Republic could slide into the Galena Tournament.

well as bad as glendale has been that is probably the best place for them lol

Some big schools aren’t very good, and some small schools are really good. I agree on Marshfield bc they are a pretty good team but Glendale and Bolivar weren’t expected to be very good this season. I don’t know who Bolivar played but the Glendale win wasn’t expected.

So it all depends on the caliber of teams in a given tournament.

When he mentions Glendale, I’m assuming he’s referring to the Blue Eye tournament…

Anyone who watches girls basketball knows that Blue Eye beats Glendale 5 out of the last 5 years more than likely.

Sounds like someone is whining.

Yeah I dont think the size of the school matters, it is more about the quality of the basketball program.

West Plains don't need to be in the Halfway Tournament.

But Glendale in the Blue Eye tournament is very reasonable.

West Plains isn’t in that tourney are they? I don’t believe they are.
Guessing you’re just using that as a hypothetical example lol.

Usually they just do, FG, P&W, and Nixa tourney

Well I knew it wasn’t on the schedule, but it also shows over a week until their next game so I’m like… “no way” 🤣🤣🤣

I don't care if the big school is good or not. BOLIVER a class 5 school has NO business in the class 1 Fair Play tournament.

The tournaments do not have to let them in, it is not like Bolivar put a gun to someones head. The tournament must be fine with it.

Who do you think authorized them being allowed to play in their tournament?

Could it possibly be the Class 1 host Fair Play? 😳
Yes I understand how tournaments work. I didn't say they shouldn't be allowed I said they have no business being in it. Bolivar is the one I am condemning for doing it. Is the Bolivar program that bad they have to schedule down to get a few wins? I just don't see the benefit of it. I was under the impression you get better playing better competition.

Glendale had not even made the finals before. Has been playing in one of the early games on the final day.

Hillcrest is playing in the Hermitage Tournament this week with teams like Climax Springs, Humansville, and of course Hermitage.

Also Macks Creek, Wheatland and Fair Play.

This should prepare them for their first round district match up with West Plains lol.

It's Hillcrest man, not Kickapoo. It doesn't matter who they play in the first round of district, they are losing by 40 if they play a better schedule, by 45 if they play in the Hermitage tournament and play weaker teams ;)

Varsity score vs Kickapoo last year 71-7.
JV score was worse than that. Hillcrest is trying to raise numbers of participants to try to grow the program. This is the only way to do it. Go compete. And when you get better, schedule better.

Not a great look for them when they lose in a class 1 tournament and their HC goes on social media blaming small town refs for his team losing by double digits before taking it down. They would've got turbo clocked in the championship game if they could've even made it.

Yeah I think the new guy at Hillcrest is trying, he's had them participating a lot of summer stuff together pretty sure, but it's a slow process to change the culture there. They went to the final four in 2015, but it's been pretty bad since.
