Big game at Rolla tonight

There is a girls game before so should be around 645-7 it is senior night for the girls so might be closer to 7.
Run and gun should prevail, but Rippee might slow it down a bit. Not sure how that'll play out. Rolla could make the OC a three-way tie, if they can get by my Falcons on Thursday. History isn't on Rolla's side, though. They're 2-20 against Kickapoo all-time and 3-32 against Glendale all-time. The Kickapoo-Rolla contest will be broadcast on citylinktv.com tonight - not sure if that's on the Kickapoo channel or the Rolla channel. Just go to the site and check both out to see which one the game is on.

They handled Kickapoo's pressure quite well (minus a few turnovers when POO made its run in the fourth quarter) and knocked down shots at a nice clip (always got a big three when Kickapoo had cut the lead to 10 or so). Kickapoo's defensive and offensive rebounding left a lot to be desired in the first three quarters. The game just went Rolla's way, almost from the start. Just one of those deals. I hope my Falcons can give the Bulldogs a better game on Thursday. It'll be tough with Rolla knowing they could take at least a share of the OC for first time ever in boys basketball with a victory. Teams could meet again in the quarterfinal at Bolivar, but A LOT has to go Glendale's way for that to happen. However, it's far more likely than if Glendale was still in Class 5!
Glendale's enrollment numbers might move up in future years. A big piece of land north of Hickory Hills Country Club might become a new subdivision with over 100 lots. First subdivision in Springfield with 100+ lots under consideration since 2008.

Helias won't beat Rolla in the district, and Rolla has a great chance to go to Columbia. I don't know who is good in the district they'll match up with in the sectional game, but they'll be the favorite against anyone in District 11 in the quarterfinal if they get there.
Don't count out Helias just yet. Neutral site and team playing a lot better. They have played a brutal schedule and tested. They just need to play and not worry about all the other stuff going on around this team. If they are let go to play like last year, look out.
