It was Schildt they said was talking about it. I can't figure whose AB's he can take other than in a pinch hitting role. I guess he can play first and Carp 3rd against some right handers but Gyroko is playing pretty well at 3rd, sure hate to knock down the defense a notch now.
I think he gets an AB every night and one or two starts a week. With Ozuna DL’d, JMart will be in the OF only. Now if/when Wong, Carp, or Gyorko need a day Adams will spell them. And with Muñoz back from the DL, I really have no clue why García is eating up a roster spot.
It'll happen at some point. Shildt ran Fowler out there every day. He'll give Waino a chance too.
It’s hard to argue with what Shildt has done. But one has to wonder if a healthy Fowler would’ve changed that. I just can’t help but thing the decision to run him out there daily came from upstairs. But I’m afraid you’re right about Waino. I’m just struggling to understand it all. The pen with Hudson, CMart, Hicks, and Norris looks scary good. Don’t muck it up.
A new manager usually brings a change in clubhouse vibe which I'm sure has something to do with the turnaround. But Shildt got lucky when Fowler got hurt. I also think moving Pham has paid big dividends. I'm not so sure his attitude wasn't being a team negative as well. I know he tried hard and had good spells. But a guy with a big chip on his shoulder who openly shares it can't really be a good thing for a clubhouse I don't think. He just seemed more about ME than TEAM. Total opposite of JMart who is kind of in a similar position. We've all been ready for Mabry to move on. Add in the bullpen changes and it's a quite bit different group that Shildt is working with than MM had. I think we have to give upper management quite a bit of credit for hitting the right buttons so far. Hopefully good things continue.
