Big 8 fans, what are your predictions for the Big 8 this year? With CJ gone, who will provide the biggest threat to Lamar? Except for the Tigers, I don't know which teams have the most coming back, but I will give my predictions. Let me know if you disagree.

You probably know the league better than I, But do you really thing Aurora will be that high?.. They graduated a ton on both sides of the ball.

Didnt know They lost alot... They wont be nearly as good as last yr but those other teams besides Monett really arent that great... I do Miss the days of Seneca being good.. I was at the game a few yrs back when they beat john Burroughs to go to state.

Lamar should be top dog, Monett could be decent this year has some holes to fill from last year. Cassville will be young but talented could surprise some people and could get better as the year goes on. Aurora will be a lot smaller up front but should be competitive their QB is back but his targets are gone. Seneca has some three year starters and a new coach see if they get it going. Mt Vernon don't see any big step forward this year. Mac County has decided not to do any Jamborees so not sure about them. East Newton is still rebuilding.

I don't know that it will mean wins but, Coach LaSalle has always had teams that compete very hard. They might have 20 kids with 19 being Frosh or they may have 60 really stoked kids who've never played before but they will build from where they've been.

Seen in the news that Seneca had more then 50kids out for football this year! That's a good bit more then they've had in recent years! They could surprise some people this year!

That's a pretty spot-on assessment, Bullit (IMO). Lamar is the clear favorite with CJ out of the way now. Monett should have an exciting season. Cassville could play the spoiler for some ranked teams. Aurora's QB is scary good...he looks like a D1 field general when he's healthy. Aurora could be solid if they get him some receivers. Seneca, MV, and Mac should each nail down 4-5 wins this season. The Newt is in Year 1 of the LaSalle era. Years 3+ could be exciting for them if the school board and parents let him do his job.
