McDonald County (Class 4, 0-3) hosts East Newton (Class 3, 0-3)
Monett (Class 3 #8, 2-1) hosts Mt. Vernon (Class 3, 1-2)
Seneca (Class 3, 0-3) hosts Aurora (Class 3, 1-2)

Incorrect. McDonald County begins football in the Big 8 Conference next season (2016) after Carl Junction moves out.
 
Are you sure about that? Everything I read had Carl Junction listed as 2014 Big 8 champs with an 8-0 record.
 
Lamar, some calling Cass win an upset? I think it will be a good game and could easily go either way.

I stand corrected. I was relying on information given to me by someone who used to be very much in-the-know in the Big 8 Conference. I was told that MC would not be a full member (in football) until CJ left the conference. Apparently, that info was altered or just outright wrong.

With this revelation, I ask why we are not calling it the Big 9 Conference these past 2 years? In the past, as the conference expanded it always changed its name (Big 8, Big 9, Big 10, Big 13).

What people don't remember is they were voted in before it was official CJ was leaving. At that time it was decided to keep the Big 8 name because I believe they said because of tradition? and there was no reason to change it.
