Lamar is an easy choice. I really have a hard time picking the other game. If the weather is good, MV will be able to score on Monett with their air attack. On the other hand, Monett is probably going to run over, through, and around the MV defense with their ground attack. Both teams are 1 dimentional on offense for the most part. Probably a high scoring affair. Monett's front 8 on defense will get the nod, but their secondary will get abused if they can't get to MV's quarterback. Should be an enjoyable game to watch.

Mount Vernon versus Monett, Old Tom Fox as the Ozone calls him was the head coach of the neers back when I was just a pup going to junior high/high school in Monett. I always admired his teams back then, he always put the ball in the air when most teams were 3 yards and a cloud of dust sort of running teams. There was no love lost between him and our old Coach Richardson. He has coached and won most anywhere he has been from Mt. V to Webb to Ozark to selling Insurance and back to Mt. V. There is no doubt he will have his team fired up, and they will not quit. This will be no cake walk for Monett, just another Big 8 slug feast.

Really think this has the potential to be a great game. All things being equal I think that Monett is the better team and if the two played ten times the Cubs could very well win eight of them. But in a one game deal the Neers have a shot for sure. Hadlock is solid. He has such a quick release, even when you beat the line, he is hard to get to. Massey is special but if you pay too much attention to him Montemayor will get ya. Just hard to go against the Purple and Gold in this one. Would love to be there, I will catch up with the winner next week.

36 to 0 halftime little time left before half. Wish it was a very good game. Fair grove isn't anywhere close to competing. Wish it wasn't so easy before liberty heads up here next weak. The boys needed a little better workout in my opinion.
