Best team in State??? Any class

I'd have to say Blue Springs South.
I'm a Fort supporter, but South takes it for me. I was impressed with them especially at the end of the yr. Last 4 games flexed their muscles and made a good case.

No doubt. Blue Springs South earned that title!

After South, it's hard to pick any outright #2. It's probably a wash between CBC, Fort, Webb, and Kearney.

Fort has the best Q. It's Fort. BSS is really good, but I didn't buy the hype that CBC was unbeatable.

BSS without question. They crushed Liberty North who was Ft. O's & Kearney's kryptonite. Interesting that LN played three state champs this year.

How can you really say anyone other than the undefeated Class 6 champ??? (The only other teams left undefeated where in Classes 1&2...)

How many D1 commits did CBC have? Yet BSS handled them like they handled every team this year (BSS by a mile!)

Now the #2 spot is quite the discussion to have...

That's the great thing about hs football. We'll never know. BSS wasn't as convincing in their win over Rockhurst as Webb City was. We could go on and on. But I think matchups are so different from school to school.

BSS C6 defeat of C5 LN was a whoopin. However, the box score indicated turnovers as the main culprit. Neither team was particularly good in the early season. The BSS Q was not real good yet throwing two balls right to LN defenders that were dropped. BSS defense that night was not all that tough vs the run. LN QB and RB situation was awful. Both teams went on to over-achieve. Fort had one constant, Thompson. I'm taking Fort over BSS.

Yes, the athlete's of CBC are impressive. But the CBC was not as physical. Fort is just as physical and they throw it better, have a better Q. If BSS and Fort played next weekend, I'm going with Fort.

I think Webb could gash BSS defense. If Webb played BSS, they'd do better in the first half than what they did versus the Kearney defense in the first half. Fort and Kearney have better defenses than BSS.

We had this discussion in 03 with KHS and Blue Springs everyone on here said no way a class 4 team could beat them. Why on earth would anyone change now KHS is just two years removed from class 5. I do think FT. O would be a better game than CBC gave them.

CBC is this year's Battle minus the loss to BSS. They dominated the East side but would be challenged big time in KC. CBC reminds me of Park Hill in athleticism.
