Pierce City won the first and last years of the conference. Of those two, the 04 team dominated the regular season, then lost to eventual state champ Marionville in the playoffs. Last year's PC team was a pretty salty 11-1, and smoked the SRVC. If the bar was the furthest in the playoffs it would the GF team or one of the Lockwood teams. Eye test though? One of those Miller teams were the best.

Was Lockwood last year the only SRVC team to ever make it to the semis?

Revno, a friend from PC was telling me a few weeks ago that their numbers are way down this year and that they might not be able to field an 11 man squad and are going 8 man, have you heard anything like that?

I just found that hard to believe, since they were one of the ones wanting to find a more stable conference with teams with more stability with fielding 11 man squads.

PC is losing a great senior class. There is a talented junior class next year. But the senior class is small. No 8 man, but it will help that we get 11 man Junior high and JV games for a change. That hurts participation numbers imo.

Captain Obvious, give us a list of WEMO teams getting by Thayer and/or Valle since 2004? Only playoff success the SRVC had was went they got the easy draw.

False they lost to Marionville in 03 when they won state. They also lost in 04 after going 10-0 but Marionville only made it to the semis that year! IMO the 2010 Miller team was the best. Unfortunately they only had one real tough regular season game and ran into Valle!

Been several playoff losses to the Comets. Can't blame a PC fan for getting them mixed up! Pierce had a good 2 year run there, too bad Marionville had a better one.

Agree that '10 Cardinal team was nails.

2003, was Flood still there? I know it was the 7-0 playoff game against Lockwood, the ref was handing the ball to the center, so it wouldn't float off.

Flood set his records in 05 and 06. Marionville was state runner up those yrs.

I saw the 2001 Lockwood team vs West Platte in the title game. They were outstanding. If they played anyone else they win. And Flood’s Marionville team in 2005 got beat up in the title game by West Platte as well. I think they held him to less then 150 in the game.

Flood had 200 yards in the first half with a dislocated shoulder that year. They limited him in the second half, and WP only won by a single score.

I didn’t think the game was I doubt at all for WP. We controlled it from the very first play of the game. When Marionville threw a pick 6

You do realize WP and Marionville aren't or never were in the SRVC. Geez..

..also, 2001 Lockwood wasn't either. The league ran from 04 till 17. Pierce City was dogged on here because they stepped down a level of competition when leaving from the Mid Lakes, but PC will go where Sarcoxie, Miller and Diamond go. 15 different sports make that an economic necessity. The new league is tougher and more stable. These 4 schools had to make this move as well.

Some good football was played during those years. Usually, I picked Sarcoxie to win it every year and must have jinxed them. Class 1 football is funny,

Miller was never class 2. PC spent 6 years in class 2. Beat Lamar once and East Newton a couple of times in districts.

Sorry don’t mean to correct you but it was actually 4yrs from 2006-2009. You guys beat East Newton once in 2009. Lost in 06, 07, and 08. You also never beat Lamar.

PC went c2 beginning the 2 year rotation after the tornado. One of the EN losses the patriots were 0 and 8 and the Eagles were 8-0 and ranked ludicrously high in class 2.

PC had one good run where they beat a ludicrously high ranked Warsaw team in a sectional game. Pierce City is back now in Class 1 where they belong.

Question though? How can a city of 1300 lose 75 homes and have to move up to play with the big boys. Those years hurt because of the drubbing from Lamar and EN ended most seasons. We lost to Diamond for the first time in the playoffs.

Finally! Please don't apologize before correcting me. It has become a recurring theme of late. BHP too..

Not that it matters, the tornado in PC happened in 2003. Y’all went 9-1 and lost to marionville in districts. 2004 went 10-1 lost to Marionville in class 1 sections. 05 went 5-5. 06 when y’all moved up to Class 2. You went 7-3 losing to EN and Springfield Catholic in districts. 07 y’all went 8-2 losing to EN and SC again in districts. 08 6-5 lost to Warsaw in sectionals then in 09 you guys went 7-5, upsetting a highly ranked Warsaw team who was 10-0 but also lost their stud qb the week before but y’all lost to Lamar the following week. 07 EN made it the Semis and 09 Lamar made it the semis as well as Marionville won state in 03 and made it to the Semis in 04! Not a PC fan here Monett all the way. I can send you the sites I’ve found this information on if you don’t think it’s accurate!

Send me the sites. I believe you are accurate, I just would like to have had a resource other than my faulty memory!
