I can't figure why people like this want to hang on for so long. Both McConnell and his wife are gazillionaires on their own why the heck would they stay in that mess in DC instead of enjoying some retirement time. Now he's to the point he'll never get to really get to enjoy retirement.
Some people start to cognitive decline at 55, some not until 96. Let's not put a rigid limit on things that don't need a rigid limit. Let's instead stop letting 2 very well-funded private organizations choose our candidates.
I sort of agree with that except the issue is once a person is elected it is almost impossible to get them out no matter how they vote their age or their cognitive decline, and with only 2 very well-funded parties backing them you will never win back our country. So again I say that is not what was envisioned.
So what we didn't see is exactly what you said 2 very will -funding parties backing people who are hanging on way to long because of power and greed and not for the betterment of the country. And we never saw that those in power would set up shop and live in Washington and lose touch with the people they are supposed to represent.
Some don’t start losing cognitive abilities until 96? I understand your point but, come on man. I know of literally no one who will tell you they are as sharp at 66 as they were at 46. It’s just how much have they lost.

I agree in spirit, but in principle, there should be no set law.
People need to vote smarter.
Problem is , old people vote and they don't trust the young'uns.
Vietnam era people aren't giving up their power.
Not to be too morbid, but they will be soon enough.
