Kind of taking this off of another thread where they were comparing Skyler Thompson and Josh Freeman. Who is the best HIGH SCHOOL (don't care about potential or what they did in college or the pros) you have ever seen in person? Can you rank your top 5 in order with #1 being the best? Please list the school also. Here's what I can think of off the top my head in no order from KC area: Drew Lock, Corbin Berkstresser, Nathan Scheelhasse, Coffman bros, Blaine Dalton, Skyler Thompson, Josh Freeman, Adam Barmann.

Please list your top 5 (top 10 if you got em) from the entire state. There are a lot more great ones that I didn't mention.

The QB from Platte County last year should be honorable mention. They looked like a video game when they got it going. Half a D and better special teams and they would have walked through the State title.

I only saw the PC kid play one game on TV vs Oak Park and I think he had 4 int's (maybe 3 in the first half). They said it was probably the worst game of his career. I know he put up big numbers.

My opinion is that Thompson is the best HIGH SCHOOL qb I have seen in MO.

Others I've seen in person in no particular order. Surely forgetting some.

Paul Watson - Park Hill
Christian Morton - Riverview Gardens
Jeff Handy - Blue Springs
Nathan Scheelhaase - Rockhurst
Kurt Propst - Jeff City
Josh Freeman - Grandview

Statistically speaking it's probably me:
2 for 2 with 2 touchdowns. I'd like to see someone with a better QBR

Those are all great picks. A lot of people didn't get to see the Barmanns at West Platte but they were legit.

Connor Harris from BSS was one of the best all around players I've ever seen.

Billy Maples at PH right now is pretty legit.

Trent Hosick is up there depending on the type of offense you're running.

# 5 Carson Coffman / Ray Pec
# 4 Drew Lock / Lee's Summit
# 3 Sean Ransburg / Harrisonville
# 2 Nathan Scheelhaase / Rockhurst
# 1 Josh Freeman / Grandview
These are my picks because I feel that they were all very good and I have seen multiple high school games of all of them, and all high school games of one of them.

Got to See Alan Cockrell for the Parkwood Bears he passed for over 3,499 yds, 44 touchdowns, ran for 1,541 yds, 36 touchdowns, and even kicked 154 PATs, and 8 field goals. Was pretty fun to watch.

Was going to name him. Hard to argue anyone has been more complete as a football player.

I'm surprised no one has listed Trent Green. Played in the NFL so has to at least make the list I would think.

Jeff Handy-Blue Springs
Nate Minnis-Blue Springs
Chase Patton-Rock Bridge
Blaine Gabbert-Parkway Central
Drew Newhart-Cameron
Eric Cserniewski- Montgomery County

Cserniewski ended up winning the Harlon Hill Trophy (d2 Heisman) his senior year at Central Missouri

Newhart -Cameron

Couple others that carried the team on there shoulders
Kassinvoid- Lawson
That kid from Savannah that was a baseball player that carried the team to state semifinal against Webb City. (Believe he only played football his senior year)

Josh Freeman completely superior to all on KC side. If you evaluate the talent level minus the team accomplishments and the defense surrounding him, he's simply hands down the best ever in KC. Watson and particularly Handy were the result of unfamiliar systems. Newhart the supreme example of system ahead of its competition and conference. Scheelhaase is second to only Freeman. House struggled when faced with coverage. Freeman could stiff arm a rush, was a man surrounded by children and had one go to kid. In the heyday of the KC powers he was head and shoulders above the best teams and made average teams look silly.

Tomas Brock from Mt Vernon! Started all 4yrs at qb for them 03-06! His sr yr against Monett he had a 65yr TD run that he broke 13tackels before taking it to the house, just something you don't forget seeing and he did that all year! Almost lead Mt Vernon past Harrionville 28-29!

Blake McFadden is the Savannah QB

Best passer I personally played against was Dylan Meyer of Pittsburg ks . He was big, accurate , and had a lightning quick release . Went on to have a decent career at Kansas state . His younger brother Kerry played qb as well ...wasn't half the talent as Dylan but a way better runner and strong as heck ....he single handly beat Webb (us) in 2003. He went to Ku ...moved to wr and had a good career ending up with the Atlanta falcons. It was after I graduated but Webb played Clayton (and lost in overtime) in the state championship in 2004 and Jarrius Byrd was their qb. He threw all over them and made 20+ tackles in the state game . Went to Oregon and then was rookie of the year with the bills at safety and I think made a pro bowl or two.

The best ive seen in Joplin,

Alan Cockrell Parkwood then Tennessee vols
Sean Sadler Parkwood then Mizzou
Mike Loyd Memorial then Missouri Southern then St Louis Cardinals.

Mark McIntosh of Ray South had a great HS Career but was dogged by injuries at Mizzou.
