Bello leaving Mizzou......................

Bello is not a solid D-1 player. It appears " The Kim " is running off the unwanted players with hopes of getting more D-1 players on the Missouri roster. Who are the other low D-1 or D-2 players on the present Missouri roster?

Some would say, " All of them "...........Let's see who Anderson can get to replace them.......not much hype on the kids coming in so far.

I may be in the minority here, but I actually think J Williams was a pretty good player. He was a guy who needed some space to operate, and because MU was otherwise suspect, teams clogged things up and made his game difficult.

Put him on a good team with good shooters around him and space to operate, I think he could be an all-league type player.

Bello is a totally different deal IMO. Classic example of a kid who had tremendous physical tools, but couldn't ever really put it together on the basketball court. Amazingly, I think DraftExpress summed his game up perfectly all the way back in 2011 (at the link) and not much has changed since then.

Unfortunately, the only thing I think KA accomplishes with the roster he has left and the players he currently has coming in is incremental progress.

Williams, now Bello............who's next...........and do you care?
Bello is addition by subtraction. Losing him likely means there is a spot for one of either Kobe Eubanks or Mike Thorne (less likely of the two). Had one open scholly before losing JW3 and Bello. Now there are three. Two seem to be a foregone conclusion with Martavian Payne and Russell Woods. The third seems to be a bit up in the air, with Eubanks being the most likely at this point.

You're not in the minority if you're around people who have some basketball sense. JW3 would be real good in a system where you had shooters that could stroke it. Defenses were able to collapse because Mizzou wasn't any good. Anyone that doesn't see that is blind. That being said JW3 is leaving so good riddance.

J3 apparently wants to play the 3 thinking that's his ticket to the NBA. I've seen almost nothing in him to believe he'll ever be an effective perimeter player. He doesn't have a good shot and doesn't handle the ball very well. Kim pretty much let him do whatever he wanted this year. He had the most TOs of the entire team. He made a few shots but was far from productive out there. He'd be a very good 4 on a good team where he wasn't trying to be the number 1 option. I could see that happening at Mich St. I'd be surprised if Izzo plays him at the 3 and gives him the green light. He'll have a year to work on his game. He may come back and surprise a lot of people. Hopefully it all works out for him. By all accounts he was a good kid. I hate to see him leave. But if he wasn't happy at Mizzou everyone will be better off.

I'll be interested to see how his perimeter skills progress given a year off to improve them. He's a bit rough offensively right now. I'm not sure he would have gotten a ton of clock for this years Spartans team. That said, I think he can be a contributor there in a couple years. I just don't expect him to be a focal point of what they do.
