That’s funny Razzy were you at the game? I don’t argue the shot clock thing…..but if you were at the game you would mention the fact there best scorer finished with 10pts….a very smooth jump shot from about 7ft from the basket and wide open 3 after she came off about 7 screens that took 2min to develope and that was the 1st qtr…..then she got 3 in the 2nd on a layup plus 1…..and 2 free throws in overtime……but let not forget the 5 quarters of missed scoring opportunities where 12-14 of her shots didn’t fall…..I say it was bad scoring night all around….great defense on groves part….and outside of the 3 to go to OT those 18pts came off layups and free throwsIt was 15-15 at the end of regulation and that was only because Mountain Grove hit a game tying 3 as time was running out.
Obviously Mountain Grove had a good defensive strategy to slow down Ava's two best scorers (triangle and two), with one of the Gastineau girls hurt, and to slow it down in general.
This game is Exhibit A when presenting a case for a shot clock in high school games.
I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to debate or disagree with, sounds like we largely agree. Any time there's a game that low scoring it's a combination of one or both teams slowing it down and missing a lot of shots or just not getting shots off due to unforced turnovers. That’s funny Razzy were you at the game?
