And one of the resident experts claimed they have won without a "big bat". Bahahaha. Altuve is the freakin MVP in my book. Good night Eileen.

VB, we still know our stuff bro.
You can learn a lot by actually watching the games.

100 is good?

League average. Average is closer to 102 ish though once you remove pitchers

Average is also not positionally adjusted. A C with an OPS plus of 95 is probably more valuable than a 1B with an OPS plus of 108.

They have a lot of very good hitters moreso than a big bopper. What matters is how good their lineup is overall not how good one Hitter in it is.

This is literally the point I made and you're pretending I didn't say exactly this.

You guys lost me at the bakery in this one. What does 100+ mean? I realize that's not hard to lose me on all the fancy stats they have now, but when I look at the stat line of players OPS is very big number, like 800 or 900, and some players are over 1000. Any stat that grades a player at over 1000 is kinda silly to me.

Pick me up some glazed doughnuts

That means they are a truly great offensive baseball team top to bottom.
What does 100+ mean when OPS numbers on any stat line I see is 700 to 900 if they're any good at all? You're putting out a number I've never seen or heard if 100+ is good.

On-base Plus Slugging Plus (OPS+) has not gained as much widespread acceptance, but is a more informative metric than OPS. This statistic normalizes a player’s OPS — it adjusts for small variables that might affect OPS scores (e.g. park effects) and puts the statistic on an easy-to-understand scale. A 100 OPS+ is league average, and each point up or down is one percentage point above or below league average. In other words, if a player had a 90 OPS+ last season, that means their OPS was 10% below league average. Since OPS+ adjusts for league and park effects, it’s possible to use OPS+ to compare players from different years and on different teams

Dang Ducky you are saber head

So if the stros have 9 players with over 100 OPS+ pretty much every hitter in their lineup is above the league average.
