Assistant Football Coach Positions Open

What area are you in?

What are you certified to teach?
I am actually really interested in getting into coaching, and I am in the KC area. I have a bachelors of science in biology and a minor in coaching. Because of my minor, I took lots of exercise science courses, physical education classes, and various coaching classes. I can obtain a substitute teaching certificate but other than that, I am not certified to teach. I would not rule out the possibility of becoming a science teacher though, I just don't know the easiest way to obtain my certification, other than going back for a masters in teaching.

7-12 Science. Biology/Chemistry/ A&P are strengths. Also starting my masters in Administration with athletics emphasis. Easily could be certified in Physical Education as I have a Kinesiology minor. Willing to relocate not an issue.

your easiest way is to take the praxis test in fields you want to teach and then I think you can teach with a temp cert, it is not called the praxis test anymore but if you go to the dese website you can find out what you need to do

The new Praxis is called the MoGea content assessment. With a degree in science, which is a high need area, you should be able to bypass taking any education courses and get your temporary liscense. You have to jump through some hoops with dese. You would easily qualify for a para position too. There will be assistant jobs opening all over the state in the next month or two. Check here and here http://moteachingjobs.com/search.php as these seem to be were many get posted. Good luck.
