Assistance Requested: How many district titles has Bolivar won during their time in the Small COC?

Not sure how long the COC small has been in existence but I believe they were district champs in 04 and 05 in class 3 then in 08 and 09 first years they moved up to Class 4 then again in 2013. So I've got 5!

1999 - State Quarterfinals, Class 3
2001 - First in Districts, First in Sectionals, State Quarterfinals, Class 3
2004 - First in Districts, First in Sectionals, State Quarterfinals, Class 3
2005 - First in Districts, Class 3
2008 - First in Districts, State Quarterfinals, Lost to Webb City, Class 4
2009 - First in Districts, State Quarterfinals, Lost to Webb City, Class 4
2013 - First in Districts, State Quarterfinals, Lost to Liberty North, Class 4

That's pretty impressive isn't it Mits? Congrats to the Liberators!

COC split in divisions staring 1998 season.
They had the divisions and played crossover games.. but the total split as we know it now did not happen until 2003. Thus, Bolivar's claim of not losing a COC small game until last year.

Correct. Bolivar won 65 games in a row against Small COC schools before losing to Reeds Spring last year. I had forgotten about that.

We have tried to continue to play crossover games with the large COC since 2003. I can think of Nixa, Ozark, Branson, Willard, Neosho and Republic. We were 18-9 in crossover games under Roweton and 0-4 last year and this year for a total of 18-13 since the conference separation. I'm trying to build a website with complete historical data but my mother has a serious illness and it has pulled me away from it. I'm hoping to complete it by March.

They did have small COC champs from 1998-2003 but that seems to be forgotten. Also, I know you are a huge Roweton fan, but to be fair the overall talent level has been different the past two years. Its hard to blame it on the new coach... I hope that does not happen. Heck between coaching fathers at BHS and SBU they had stud QBs one right after another... and thats not even counting Sechler,

It's tough to address the issues without making it sound like you're getting on to the new coach which I really am not. I do believe we have to give him a couple of years to get his legs underneath him as he had no coaching experience before at the head coach level. Again, you can't blame a coach for taking a head-coaching job and a great program but you can ask the question as to why the administration didn't work harder to get a more experienced coach. That said I really like Coach Johnson and I know he has the kids best interest at heart. But I also believe Lance did as well.

I would guess I am probably the most vocal critic of our current administration in regard to what happened with our football program but I am also the first to tell those who are like-minded to me that you can't blame the current coaches for what happened before them.

Your point about competition is well taken but I would argue that there were some pretty darn good teams over the years in the COC Large. I believe Nixa was a state ranked team the year we went there and beat them for their homecoming. And I might catch some heat from Republic fans but I really don't believe the team they feel that this year was any better or worse than the teams we played the last few years. Coach Dick Birmingham told me one time that a great team will always be disliked and it will always be accused of cheating by a certain percentage of the people that they beat. He was right. Anytime a team goes on a long run you hear the same thing. I'm trying to thicken my skin up in my old age but I still have difficulty doing so LOL.

Yep. Going back to the early 90s with the Roweton brothers they've had a run of great QB's. Under Coach Roweton they had a string of them that could throw it all around the field. This year it seems like a kid is doing his best to fill the spot but he's out of position and also a D back. Not much of an offensive threat in the air. Lots of turnovers/mistakes. Many key guys are going both ways and getting gassed too.
This is a normal cycle though, for teams not named Webb City and Lamar....
